Been pouring through your stuff here on Mud and Facebook for two days and I'm your newest fan! Been looking for months for something more complete/stout than tube bumpers and less ginormous/heavy than an ARB and here it is. The details, good looks and useful touches just seal it. One thing I haven't read (probably because the answer is "duh, no"), is there a size/power limit on what winch can be thrown in there?

And glad you've made it through the sickness, bud. As someone who recently destroyed his elbow in a motorcycle crash, I can understand the stress wondering if illness/injury is going to lay waste to your business. Especially having just started working for yourself like you did! Not a fun road to travel

Thanks for the kind words and support! people have put up to a 12klb winch in there with hawse style and roller fairleads. But it must be a model were the solenoid pack is removable. as that gets mounted under the hood or behind your plastic grill. let me know if you have any other questions and thanks again!

So I have gotten now a few requests about fitting a warn 8274 in my front bumper.. And one member offered to send one for mock up. If I can get at least 4 solid commitments I would be willing to redesign the center section and tube work to properly accommodate the 8274 at no extra charge for redesign time or any added material that may be involved. This will be an impressive build... The price will be 1475.00 (current price of the heavy duty version with recovery pockets) or 1375.00 for a standard lighter version. The price without my recovery pockets on a standard non 8274 modified bumper is 1175.00 with "common" shackle mounts.
After this first run of 8217 bumpers the price will be adjusted accordingly. 8217 (17) for year of production to go along with how warn named the winch. The M stands for "model," 8 is for its 8,000 lb. capacity, 2 is for "two-way" (freespool and power-in), and 74 is the year it was introduced.

The 8274s are cool but they are 3" deeper than the planetaries which means the bumper will have to extend an additional three inches forward.
I know with the 60 series that adds about ten extra pound of material. For the user that is looking for the best possible approach angle,it becomes an issue. There's the ongoing 80/60 friendly rivalries going on where the 80 owners stick it to us 60 drivers about the better approach angles on the 80. Since I drive a 60, I'm all for the 8274 up front on an 80. Warn also has a 6.5 hp motor upgrade for the 8274 that makes it a true 10,000 lb winch, maybe a little more.
I have two 8274's. One was on my 55 and the other on a 40. I have a third I haven't even tested. I really like them for certain applications

Hi guys and gals. Ive been on here for a few years now and have recently become a vendor. I 've always been a Toyota guy and own a couple cruisers and a 4 runner. My 60 aka Ingrid was trapper50cals old rig. And nuclear lemons before.
I'm a full time fabricator and also have a small shop at home. Currently I offer an 80 series expedition based front bumper that started as a personal bumper for my 80 and due to all the response has turned into my first mail order available product. There is a full build thread and a couple great reviews on here currently. I'll add links later. There is a standard version and heavy duty. I'm currently in the middle of developing a modular rear bumper to compliment my front bumper. It will have some really nice features some of which I have gotten numerous requests for and some not currently offered on a rear for 80.
I will also be making steel rear corners to replace the useless plastic stock corners. These are a greatgreatbstuff

I am also developing a rear cargo divider with some nice features as well. I'm up for any custom requests from simple brackets aluminum or steel to full vehicle kit outs if your local.
I also build artsy stuff as well. From reclaimed wood/steel tables and lighting to the 50cal twin gatling guns that can be seen in another thread on here.
You can follow me on Facebook to see what I'm up to when not posting on here as my website is still being developed. Here are some pics of the 80 series bumper I currently offerView attachment 1199979 View attachment 1199980
wow, your bumpers look great! I am interested in one for my fj60.Have you made any of them? If yes please post awsome pictures I if not please think about it-

So i did a lift install on an 80 recently and it required the caster correction bushings installed. As i pressed out the rubber and began cutting the sleave to punch out with a hammer and chisel i quickly realized how much this sucked. As the sleave did not want to come out even after cutting. I took a quick measurement and cut out press plates on the plasma table out of 1/2" stock. Wow what a difference one shot pushed the next bushing straight out no fn around and clean enough without any damage to the arm or bushing/sleeve. I made a press plate for the rear bushing at the frame as well. Here are some pics. Note the condition of the bushing after removal. Message me if your interested in a pair.

Bushing on the right cut out. Left one pressed out clean with the press plate.

The rest pressed out clean and easy . And installed the new bushings with the install tool they came with.

Make sure you post up your thoughts. That tread pattern looks like it shouldn't be too noisy. It's hard to argue with the Grabber's performance off road in anything but the extreme conditions. You should be happy! It's hard to buck the KO2 trend but I'm going to go with Pitbull's AT tire. Should be ordering in the next couple of weeks. I'll post pictures and thoughts in my thread.

Sometimes when I'm bored doing fire watch I just come look through this thread. Love your work.

Gotta love them caster bushings!such a pain in the aaa. Used a 12 ton press on mine, quite the shock hearing those things pop under pressure.

Awesome work like usual hope the new tires work out, those are a possibility for me as well.

I've Run a LOT of tires over the years and we have all kinds of terrain in the Northeast plus Snow/ice .So ive got a pretty good handle on what works for me. As far as your choice with the (2) A/T brands you've mentioned the pitbull has a superior tread design than the dated bfg in my opinion. the sipes are multidirectional and the void design between the lugs allows for better evacuation of road matter . That should be a good choice as well.

Thanks for the kind words and yes that first bang is funny. I'll post up once the tires are mounted. they should be here fri/sat.

Thanks ! I'm glad you enjoy it. I kinda put everything in here. I probably should get more organized and start different sectional threads but time...... is not on my side with 2 little ones and multiple projects and orders.. you can also see some other stuff on Instagram.

A handful of press plates going out in the morning. The simple things that make jobs easier. These are for removing the old front control arm bushings if you are installing caster correction bushings. Even include a press plate to push out the bushing that mounts the arm to the frame. Might as well change them all when your at it.

I love old tools. Picked up a vintage 1946 Logan lathe model 200 the other day. Perfect for small parts and prototyping. Got it all cleaned and lubed. playing with it now. Just made a knob for a machine and a glock armorer tool (3/32 punch) all brass.

Gotta get a quickchange tool head, a chuck and some tooling. Now i can make the shafts for the airlocker actuator conversion kits i started. The rear locker on mine is working perfectly with the air cylinder.
