You did but that buggy had serious serious cash in the driveline. Atlas 4, high angle drivelines, moly axles, ctms, the most rad rear 9", walkers, krawlers
Oh I know... I was just thinking about how cheap it can really be done.

Overlanding in the carpool line. I hate minivans but I'd drive this one.

I'd drive it to a cliff.. Put it in neutral..let it roll and see if it could fly..

It is what's wrong with the automotive market.. Here is what's forced on ya and let's take one and make it suck less.
I'd rather have this

Waaaay more character

I'd paint on a red A-Team stripe and add a spoiler and peel the &$@# out.
The retired A-Team! All geriatric and sh!t..
More like the G-Team . LOL . Instead of fighting mercenaries they fight colon cancer by handing out pamphlets and rubber gloves while Mr. C (formerly Mr. T) yells
"I PITTY THE STOOL"

Yep. Some good insights on the car. Thanks.

What I've been able to piece together is that my buddy Stuart did an oil change in May of 04, had the car inspected and registered in 05 and did the timing belt in at the earliest July of 06. The car just sat there til I retrieved it. Engine wouldn't turn all the way over by hand and would only rotate about 225 degrees. Pulled the plugs and saw nothing blocking the pistons, it's a non interference motor so valves couldn't be stopping it. Soaked it in Marvel Mystery Oil and PB Blaster over night and after brain storming with Bossman I stopped by the next morning around 5 am before heading to the station and worked it back and forth for about 20 minutes and was able to get it turning completely over by hand. Smooth as silk. Going to replace the fan shroud which is cracked, the cam seals and maybe the crank seal. Beno suggested an oil change and break in period almost like a fresh rebuild just because of it sitting for so long. Followed by another oil and filter change. Should be a nice little weekend driver.

Good progress. Just take it slow and methodical. Your buddy did it right b4 he put it up.
