Hi,
some background on this thread here:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/485158-pertronix-ignitor.html
so I finally got spark at all the plugs and wires. My points were not adjusted correctly, thanks POSER! appreciate your help and everyone's else.
Well, it still won't fire though. Engine cranks over well and I have spark at each wire and fuel spraying into the carb.
So, I decided to do a dry/wet compression test. Pic shows the results.
I think there is a break between 3 and 4 cylinders in the head gasket.
What I am wondering though is would this cause the engine not to fire at all? I used to have an F engine and I had a bad HG but it still ran, albeit it roughly. So, wondering if anyone can comment on whether a 0 reading on 3 and 4 would cause the engine not to fire at al? All I get right now is backfiring through the carb.
I have replaced: points, condensor, cap, rotor, wires, coil. I set the bb to the pointer and confirmed TDC by looking at the #1 cylinder and making sure it was topped off (tapped with screwdriver). Dropped the disty in with the rotor pointed to #4 spark plug and #1 on the cap.
Appreciate any help / comments / suggestions!
Noah
