Hey, I'm trying to work out how I can come up for just Saturday, perhaps. Who is planning to go just for a day but not for the whole dealio? Chris--did you say something about this?

I was going to camp friday at Rausch. The more I think about it the more inclined I am just to roll up Sat morn. If you want to meet up with me at the gas station or at Rausch let me know. From there we can find a group to run with, or , just go on our own and cover some ground.

I would like to wheel on Sat. can I hook up with the 80's crew...

You got it Matt. We just need to find a place to meet
up.

I like the Gas Station Idea...Brooks will also be there with the 62,
Also this time the:princess: will be along

Another option is to meet up with the rest of the club at the camp site. Not that we can't roll on our own but, it would be nice to at least show our faces.

Thats a good option that I like...

Wasn't sure if that was cool or not since we didn't buck up. I would pitch in for some raffle tix if they were still available.
Plus I want my shirts and stickers.;)

I'm into the shirt / sticker thing... I can still make a donation for the cause..

Chris,

Stop by camp so I can see your ugly face again! Have you found a 40 yet?

It has been a while. I'd like see your grumpy old face as well. No 40 yet. I fear its on the back burner for a while. The wife is due with our first baby in Oct, and we just bought a new house. Some day I will get one though, the wife likes them too;)

Is Dan coming up with you?

Hey Chris, I'll be up for CMCC. We've been informed that the offending tree has agreed to move aside a bit for this event to give you some more room. See you soon.

Just got back from a weekend in WV mountain biking. Gotta figure out where my coolant is going before planning this weekend. On the trip down, a little over a quart disappeared in 200 miles. Then another quart driving to mtn bike and back in the space of a mountainous 60 miles. Then about half a quart in the 200 mile trip home.

:mad::mad:

On the good side, looks like a new fan clutch kicked my overheating issues in the pants. No needle movement (I know, so what?) on the temp gauge the whole way down and back.

Jeff - Why would I want to drive an ugly school bus when I can drive a 40?

Sean - If I can find some more test fluid for the head gasket leak detector I'll bring it with me to CMCC. I've tried to find it in town without success but my son may be able to get some from the Snap On guy tomorrow.

Why's it always gotta be a 40:rolleyes: You and your 40's...... whatever;)

Chris has now dedicated his 80 to trail duties... check out his new paint job:beer: it is perfect for blacktrails... now he just need some 36" Swampies:bounce:

If I could afford that I'd have a 40 already. The short list is a slee 4'', crawler box, tires, rims, drive shaft, 5.29's, bla bla bla. A black trail rig is certainly the goal. And when I have an extra $4000 I'll get on it.;)
I would love to regear or get a toy box. Even with the meager 33's I feel like I'm going way too fast.

Don't worry Jeff we all like the piggies too.

Can't wait to see our friends from CLCC

We actually ran 13 the last time we were up. I managed to stay away from from all the trees. It was a painfull lesson, but it was learned. I still needed a spot to get over pizza rock:o. How ever I don't think I held the group up too much on the rest of the trail;)

Chris, pizza rock will give you no problems. There was a massive pile of rocks that took all the challenge away. However, 13 was where I had the most problems at EC4RJ and suffered the most damage. I will avoid 13 if I can, as it is now a solid black, since so much dirt has been removed from the increased traffic. The last time I traveled 13, I could self spot, but in June, I needed almost a constant spot, as I was always hanging up of diffs and springs due to my lack o clearance.

Seems to me that other than some gears and tires you already have a "Black trail ready rig" 5.29s are overkill unless you're a trailer queen and there is no reason for a crawler box with an auto tranny. The only one I know of who did that on an 80 is Chris Sterns from Yankee Toys and he can't drive to begin with.
FWIW, I run 4.56 gears and 36" Swampers with the OME J springs/shocks.

Always remember, if your tires don't rub, you can fit bigger tires.

John's right Chris. Get your lift and tires first, re-gear maybe, THEN see if you need the other stuff.
John's had the White Rhino out on that Glacial deposit we were all staring at before we drove by it :D
I don't think a crawler box is really necessary in an auto 80. that's why you have 2 feet and a torque converter!
