(a shameless plug, yes? But you're gonna go, I know!)

Sent my application in last weekend. The wife is even coming with me and she wants to drive the 40!

Gee, I would have thought there would be more interest, and definitely more participation from this list, for Coal Mine considering it's the biggest Land Cruiser event in the Northeast? And it's right here in our own back yard, too! What's going on, men??? Is no one attending besides those who have responded to this post? We really need to get out and show our support by registering and attending in force. It's not too late.
Please reconsider if you're on the fence with this because land use for our sport is shrinking (need I remind you of Paragon?) and supporting events like this helps our cause by providing monies to the National Chapter. They're the big guns in the land grabbing fight with the Greenies. Another reason to attend is the great company you'll be keeping, plus you get to hang out with a bunch of cool Toyota people including the FJ Cruiser Trail Team (it's their second year attending CMCC).
On another note, the central camp will be at Echo Valley. Gotham City Land Cruisers have reserved the primitive camping area, which includes limited electricity in each of the 5 pavilions there as well as a wellhead for fresh water. It ain't paradise at Echo Valley but we can make due for the 3-day event, right?
Register today by visiting the GCLC website and printing out the registration forms.
Thanks.

I have it on my schedule for at least one day...we'll see how it pans out.

I'm at RC every weekend so I didn't feel the need to post.
Plus I'd be a spectator. I have no working wheelers right now.:frown:

Sorry Mikey, I didn't mean to ignore you're post. I wish I could be there thurs and fri but I got to work. I will be there saturday for sure. So I'll see you in the staging area for 5 minutes before I hit the bunny trails.:o

There's primitive camping right there in Rausch complete with porta potties. Spent many nights there. Why Echo Valley?

I need to check my schedule and the :princess: and join TLCA, first. I know--I'm a loser for not belonging to TLCA yet.

Once you get over the smell the blue boxes are a ok. I was thinking about staying at rausch. All the cool kids are at echo. Raffle, food, etc. I also think there is a rock crawl event that weekend. Rausch may be packed with rowdy jeepers. I'm up in the air yet. However I'm also cheap so I will prob just stay at rausch.

well since you put it THAT way....

I will most DEFINITELY put this on my list of 'will most DEFINITELY do my best to attend' events!!! :D

seriously, I should be able to make it, but I'm not 100% yet.

BTW, was down at Iron Pig in Fredericksburg the other day and heard some of the guys (not Lance... he wasn't there) expressing a little concern about how this whole Rausch / Echo thing is going to work out. I hope everyone doesn't decide to skip it out of fear!

Anyone know how far a drive and what kind of roads (cops after your no fender vehicle) you travel to get between the two????

Why Echo Valley, you ask? Because that's where CMCC is being held this year, that's why.

(WTF kind if question is that???)

Why Echo Valley?

Gotham had to shift gears big-time when Paragon was on the bubble several months back and they couldn’t afford to schedule this large of an event with the possibility that the major player (Paragon) might not be in business on the dates the event was scheduled. In an effort to provide something similar to Red Ridge Campground near Paragon, GCLC asked me to scout the nearby campgrounds looking for something that provided a central camping area, water, and bathroom w/shower facilities. Rausch Creek does not fit the bill for these needs as they have no fresh water and no shower facilities. Remember, this is a family event with wives and kids so providing more amenities helps to promote attendance.
Yes, Echo Valley isn’t Red Ridge and if it doesn’t work out this year or if there are problems or complaints, I’m sure the officers of GCLC will plan accordingly next year. In the mean time, EV is the “Camp Central” for the event. Most all will be staying there; the BBQ is there as well as the raffle. Also, the FJ Trail Team will be set up at Echo Valley, too.
Access to Rausch Creek from EV is easy and passes a gas station and food joint (sandwiches) in route. It’s less than 4 miles. It is also all back roads to Rausch and the driving time is less than 10 minutes (which will minimize your chances of being pulled over for lift or tire violations). Safe bet would be to leave your ‘not PA legal’ trail rig at Rausch and commute in your tow vehicle or with someone else.

(working on my 2nd cup-o-java)

Jesus man, write the check. If you're not TLCA you're not ALCA. Hope you make it to the run it should be a good time.

I'm doing that today. My own post kicked myself in the butt to get this done. and, hey, ALCA isn't TLCA yet, dammit! :flipoff2:

Seriously, though, I am joining TLCA today. I fear the chastisement of my peers. :D

I will be there this is always one of the best evens and alot of fun. Ev is a good choice is has things for the family and hot showers at then end of a long day is something to look forward to having. I dont know about the wheeling there only been there once when they first opened. It looks like Falll Craw will be held there also.

I plan to stay at Echo valley the entire time since that is where all the cool guys will be : )
No sense in missing out on seeing the old friends from afar and making new ones at this 'once a year' event... literally more cruisers and toys in one place than most poeple see ever so I encourage everyone to register and support this event. It may be us hosting an event someday and I am sure we will expect the community to support us. It is important to actually register and follow suit with others and not skimp if at all possible since this is the only TLCA event you won't have to spend buckets of money on fuel to attent...plus stickers and T's are included as well as the raffle..... and on top of that, the camp is the most fun (though the wheeling is cool too) : )

Buck up! See you all there!
