Lowest I've found the 1000 is 749 at northern tool. It isn't cheap but it's something that would last and it's super quiet. Do we need more than 1000 watts? If you plugged a fridge in it would it run it? A small tv and dish only use a couple hundred watts at the most. We can go all led for lights. The water pump isn't used a lot. My thought is to used the battery to run most everything and use the generator to keep the battery charged.

Tank and pump came in today. Tank is pretty sweet.

Suspension is on the way.

Suspension is not on the way. We are stepping back from my idea due to costs. I'm working with a vendor on getting the cost down. The new suspension cost was 640 without spindles and shipping. That is going to push us to the 800 mark when it's all said and done. Way more than I think a suspension should cost.

I like the Timbren system but not that much.

So what other good bulletproof suspensions are there. Something we can order and weld to the frame that will hold 1200-2000lbs and have 6 stud 5.5 hubs and be a custom width?

I run the Honda 2000 and tied it into the fridge and hot water oil furnace...perfect.

I run the fridge 3 on and 3 off, also powers the 42 flat panel and Xbox 360....what the hell do you need.

Forget the battery and inverter, it's a very inefficient way to make power (converting 12 to 120) The Honda is easy on gas as well.

If the going gets rough...I have the another 2000 that's called the Companion, that hooks to the the other one with cables and has a 30 amp plug, that I'll run to a hand panel.

Well we are thinking about just what is needed while we are camping. I cannot see us using more power than 1000w.

sorry..still in survivor mod...lol:doh:

1000w would do fine...but you might want to check what Mrs' Trollhole's hairdryer takes...:D

Just reading you guys' posts on a trailer build, and see you may still consider a military one. There is a guy down here in Fl(LaBelle)who has ~ 6 -7 of the M101A2s. He will sell any one of them for $1000. I bought one from him--new tires, no rust, working hydraulic surge brakes, good canvas. 3 with hyd brakes , 2 with elec. brakes, and 2 without brakes. The axles on these things are way overkill.
There are some great ideas here--good one on the black water storage--not only warm, but no light getting in will keep the algae away.
Trollhole-how much are you asking for the storage drawer units?

what are you asking for the storage bins?

You guys plan to have this thing at GSMTR next year? I'm itching to check it out.

Tried a couple of times to send note about the parts bins, but seems they didn't get through. How much are you asking for the bins?

Timbren suspension came in today from etrailer. Have to say its way beefier than I thought it would be. That's a quarter for reference. The 4 pieces of the suspension were 100lbs.

Well at least he didn't say "and here's Blue's paw for comparison"...

Looking forward to seeing the install....

So today was the first day with the club putting it together. We actually got a roller. Can't believe how nice and easy the suspension is. Tires are just temp until we can find some 35's at a good price.

I tried sending msgs before , but don't think they made it. I would be interested in the storagew boxes, if you still have some--how big & how much?
