Haha was just going to say it’s a perfect fit.

Just received my sanded/painted set (ordered before the conversation on the LX popped up... sigh). And confirmed mine don't fit my 2009 LX.

All, just a couple of thoughts / observations to add to what others have already posted. I received mine and they fit exactly the same as other LC owners (sorry LX'ers!) in my 2011.

Overall, this is a huge upgrade and am thankful for @bhicks contributions to the LC community!

My primary use is for coffee mugs. I noticed that the Yeti Rambler I normally use will no longer fit in the new cupholders. Regular cups from your local coffee shop, however, fit even better - no more wobbles or tippy cups! (posting a couple of picks of the cupholder in action) . So, I'm in the market for a new go-to coffee mug which is a small sacrifice to the over benefits this solution offers.

And, while not wanting to derail the thread entirely, I will ask for others to post up photos (and details about) water bottles, coffee mugs, 7/11 slurpee cups ;) or other - ahem - beverage options that you have found to be enhanced with the new 3d cupholder inserts? Post 'em up!

Another action shot for perspective, fit, and tips for the center hole ;)

HydroFlask 21, standard soda can, and a bench made ball point pen.

Well, I too ordered before the discovery of the fitment issue with the LX. I've got a 2013 model. Aside from the mentioned issue, they look really nice and well made.

I just received mine, painted black. They fit and look great but they are too small for my intended water bottle. I have a pair if anyone wants them, PM me.

The LX570 OEM cup holder section showed up today. I will start the CAD design tomorrow and keep you guys updated as I go through the design process.

Spent some time yesterday and today on the LX570 insert. Ran into some issues I did not have to deal with on the Landcruiser insert. The LX570 holes are 5% larger in diameter and 20% more shallow. The shallow wide holes of the Cruiser cup holders are even worse on the LX570. I will not be able to have the insert sit flush with the top of the OEM hole. They will be too shallow. I have to run the insert up flush with the bottom of the lid which is about 1/2" above the OEM cup holder top plate. That also means the top will not be flat but will match the slight curvature of the lid. That layout is creating quite a few challenges in fitment. I am also thinking of going with a single piece design on this one to help with stability due to the shallowness I am dealing with. Here is version 1.0 in CAD. It's printing now and will be test fit tomorrow.

Looks great!

those seem like reasonable assumptions and mirror my experience with this cup holder. It is particularly bad.

Never made any sense to me why the cup holders were so shallow and wide, now we find it out it's more so on the LX than the LC.

What was Toyota's thinking process in the design?

I'm assuming there is some LX specific feature they tried to mount under the cup holder that the Yotas don't have and they needed more space for it. If not, then they are idiots. It makes no sense to make cup holders this shallow if it's simply a design choice.

So ... got mine installed today in the wife's Cruiser. It's a 2009 and fits like a glove. They look great and fit very well. Going to give it a few weeks, but may add a little non-slip or double sided tape on the bottoms. Wife was excited and that's all that matters.

Version 1.0 for the LX570 just came off the printer. Overall fitment is really good BUT one of the angles I cut into the design had a taper to it and I didn't catch it so the cup holder gets wedged into place about 1/4" before it hits bottom. I just made the taper change in CAD and version 2.0 is starting up right now. Once I get it fitted correctly, I will post some pics.

The dang religion problem, if everyone would just use the same cup holder inserts, and same water bottles that fit, all would be right in the world!! I use the Yeti (knock-offs) too, would be hard to give those up!

Version 2.0 seats all the way down into the bottom and is nice and snug. Fitment is perfect but I now have a new issue. I can close the lid but it doesn't latch. In order for the lid to actually latch when you close it you have to go about 1/4" beyond the closed position so that it gets caught as it tries to go back up. My cup holder right now makes contact right as the lid is at the closed position BUT the lid can't go beyond that point to latch. I need to get another 1/4" of depth out of this. It's getting super complicated to make this work with the space I have and keep the cup holders fully functional. I will keep you guys updated. Version 3.0 is printing now. Hopefully this one will allow for the lid to latch AND keep cups nice and stable.
