CLC HAM radio net?

We had a few people on last night - Leon's 70CM <-> 2M crossband repeat worked great! I was hitting it from near downtown.

Anybody have any more information about that discussion on proposed wilderness designation out in the Ouray area??

As Eric said we had a few people, but not those that were originally interested ;) It was good though, it lasted almost 30min and had a few guys from the MARC club participate. I think this has the potential to be a good deal for both clubs. Some of the MARC members are S&R and live out that way. Many are into 4x4 and know the areas well. It is nice to have friends on a repeater network and a good way to learn.

I think once a month, say the first Tuesday at 8:00pm would be a good time. That way we can discuss trip plans and the MARC guys and others will know when we are out and about.

That was exactly my thoughts as well, having it perfectly "out of phase" with the regular meeting. Two weeks between. As one guy put it, we should get together and come up with our own "intro" so we are not mimicking the MARC meeting's net. Good stuff.

We'll make it so. I'll update the first post here, the HAM radio info thread and the website.

As for a different script, I did cut out some MARC stuff last night. Some stuff is basic net protocol. I really wasn't sure what he was thinking as I did discuss CLC some. Maybe do some announcements about the club up front and a better CLC description? I'll talk to WES about it.

Sorry I missed it.

As you should be :D

X2 ;)

Tomorrow night 7/2 at 8:00pm or immediately after MARC net finishes if they go over. Feel free to check in on the MARC net

First post updated with frequency information.

That is part of the purpose of the Net, make sure all the bugs are worked out and you know how to use the radio. That way you are prepared in an emergency.

On that radio the MARC Springs repeater is programmed under the name MARCCS. Let me know if you need help trouble shooting. Really odd that you couldn't even get the x-band.

Maybe I just need a bigger antenna. I think I'll go with this one. Looks good on a 100.

Now that is impressive and bigger is better for antennas. However, I don't think it will tune to 2m :grinpimp:

Yes, I will have the x-band set up as well for the 2m only folks.

Sorry, won't be able to make this one.

Next one coming up on Tue. 3rd
