CLC HAM radio net?

Sorry guys, I won't be back in time for it.

We are on for April 1, no joke ;)

I know I sound like a broken record but I would recommend if not checking in then at least listening in on the MARC net at 7:30. You can learn a lot by just listening.

Get use to "clearing" with your call sign, as at the end of a transmission (or conversation). And every 10 minutes you need to id with call sign. Some will say their call sign and then "for id". Technically that is redundant and all that is really needed is to say your call sign at the end of a sentence during your transmission.

Breaking in on a conversation you can use your call sign suffix only.

Hope to QSO with some fellow CLC HAMs - 73

No one checked in

I was looking forward to the net last night, but got stuck at work late :(. Got home around 7:30, but let the net slip my mind after a stressful day. I could hear the last net loud and clear at my house, but I am a bit curious if you guys will hear me on my HT.

Sorry Leon - I was working late as well, catching up from last week. Maybe should have brought the HT and tried it from the office.

I will be around. If people from here check in on the MARC net prior, I will run the CLC net at 8:00. Yes extortion for your own good. Plus I will then know if I should stick around or not. Don't mind doing this at all but when I plan my schedule around this and no one shows, it is a tad annoying.

Thank you Leon for taking the time to hold the net. This was my first time using a repeater, so it's nice to see that my radio/programming functioned as expected.

If you recall, there was one unreadable check in during the MARC net. That was me. I had noticed that my radio did not have the CTCSS tone enabled, even though its in the CHIRP file. I manually added the tone in the radio before I made contact after the MARC net. I wonder if that made a difference, or if it was just my location. I live near barnes and powers, so it may be asking a lot of my cheapo HT to hit the repeater from home.

I thought I heard you trying to check in on the MARC net, I suspect it was your location since when you checked in our our net you were much more readable after you changed locations. Good job by the way.

Right after the our net ended a guy called for you Travis but you had already turned off you radio. He then called me and was interested in learning more about the club. He must have heard me call you president ;). Anyhow, he had is radio on scan and picked us up. His name is Scott and he was in Alma. I gave him the website info and he was able to find it. He said he would check it out.

Can't make it tonight, had something come up. Sorry guys...

Ha! And I was there last night!

Yes, will plan on it this Tue.
