I graduated highschool in Yemen, and in my senior year I fell in love. I then lived in the UAE for 19 years, and a little over a year ago I uprooted myself and moved to the beautiful Sultanate of Oman. Before leaving Dubai I went on a 3 year hunt to find the car I had always been dreaming of- a full option, soft top, Yemeni spec, 2006 74. After having a friend check everyone he could find in Yemen, almost giving up and buying an silver FRP top, we managed to find exactly what I wanted. Champagne color, 50k original kilometers, over fenders, AC, alloy rims, and the to die for ))) side stripes that only came out on 2006s, I pulled the trigger. I am not proud to say it cost me more than a brand new 70 series would, but I do know that it is my favorite landcruiser ever built. Originally on Dubai plates, I finally got it into Oman and registered it here (967 is the calling code for Yemen) so I thought it was appropriate to match it with the perfect plate. It shares my driveway with a 2025 single cap lc79 as well as my Qatar spec diesel lc200 (work in progress, but bought earlier this year from an oil company with 5624 km on the clock). The 74 is the ultimate in every way, powerful, beautiful, light weight, fast, and soft top. Now to keep her under wraps and bring her out in the winter.

Not going to lie after having 40s, 45's, 60's, 79, 100, 200's, i genuinely feel like this is the ultimate LC. The looks are classic enough to hit the spot for me, it is completely analog, but the power to weight ratio mean it moves. Add the soft top to that + my nostalgia for it, and it really ticks all the boxes for me (so much so that my 45 troopy soft top chassis swap project was shelved). Thanks

More picture please !

Such an awesome cruiser! Very cool! This for me is the pinnacle MWB version.

I agree with @Broski more pictures! This will only help him buy one quicker
Thank you very much kind sir. To me it has taken me a lot of time and I’ve been through a lot of landcruisers to figure it out. But smiles for miles it wins all day long. Same excuse as @Broski gets: too hot for now, check @thesandcruiser on insta there’s some more there. When it cools off I’ll get better pics etc

I’ll check that out for sure. Im sure it’s too hot there. We hit 102 a couple of times although it’s only 87 today, it’s plenty warm for my softtop 74.

I drove it into the office today and then saw your post. I had to chuckle because your 2006 has 50,000kms, my 1988 is almost 20 years older, 520,000 MORE kms sitting at 570,000 and they are pretty much the same dang cruiser 😂. Don’t change a good design!

Looking forward to see what you do with it.
