sorry bit lax in my updating the thread.. We worked on Alan's 45 last weekend and took last Monday and Tuesday as well.. Not a TON of progress to see but progress.. New plated headlight buckets in, new koito headlights and relay system installed. Wiring harness.. Lots and Lots of work on the wiring harness. I would say 90% done but at the end of cleaning it all up, running everything i did not have turn or hazard or horn. Did finalize headlight and tail. Will start on harness again Sat 10.31.2020 with a fresh mind.

Gas tank mods to insert hydramat into the gas tank. A Tank Inc PA series fuel pump insert that is larger than the GPA series that comes with the Sniper setup.
The sniper setup we are doing in our head and in theory should be pretty cool once completed.
The tank is getting modified for the new pickup and hydramat HydraMat - Holley Performance Products
Gas tank mount straps painted. and Seat spacers to move the Pass set up and away from the fuel pickup fittings that will be under the seat. I think we eventually landed on a 1.25" pass seat spacer that can be possibly shortened in the future.

Tank is getting lined, few pinholes were present that could not be soldered. Wanted to wait on the lining until after the mods were all done to the tank.
I used this on my tank just in case. Would have preferred NOT to line it but we tried soldering it and it just wouldn't seal up!
Also found an old school heater for the dash.. It is now disassembled and getting cleaned up. I dropped off a new heater core as well..
Last bit of fab work on a door window track being complete, doors should be in paint along with the pewter for the heater and some other door bits.

Heater parts in color, door handle, crank, etc in pewter.. Door inspection covers, OEM interior rear view mirror and outside rear view mirror heads will be in pewter later today. Door and heater assembly bolts/screws are already in the correct colors.
Should have color on doors soon! I'm waiting on some loom stuff to "wrap up" the wiring harness!
Added final pewter pics of repainted mirror heads, door access panels, OEM Rearview mirror.

Not a lot to report. Lots of things are happening in the background. Exhaust is tacked and to a specialist to tig and cerakote. Heater/defrost is going together. New Driveshaft is sitting next to it along with new pinion seals, neither of which are installed yet. Doors are in primer and should be in paint tonight. In the meantime enjoy the pic of the top half of the doors in paint.

Tank is now lined. Tanks inc PA pump housing slightly modified to allow the fuel sender full swing up and down and clear everything. Using the PA bracket because it is slightly larger hole to insert the hydramat.

The older heaters are just elegant and stylish compared to the plastic ones with the stupid ball thing that never works correctly

Pretty cool piece of unobtanium arrived today. No explanation needed for most in this group.

Here’s the exhaust and intake mounted up.
The exhaust is all ceracoated.
Erik did a great job with it, it’s all up above the frame rail and will fit with an fj40 bash plate, if one of those will fit. We haven’t tried that yet.
It’s an SOR 6 into 2 into 1 header to a vibrant resonator to a flowmaster muffler.it should sound good without being loud.

Driveshafts mounted.
Since we converted from three speed transmission to four speed, we had Tom Woods built a new rear to spec, the front is a decent FJ40 spare we had in the shop.

Test fitting the Holley Sniper efi and old style air cleaner.
We need to make an adapter to go between them. We took all the measurements and Ed Thomas, our metal fab magician, should have that done this week.
