so tonight when I was leaving for work, I noticed a puddle on the driver's side floor of my pickup, thought: "well that's odd, this isn't a 40" and just drove off. Later on in the parking lot of the hotel I night audit for, I felt around under the dash, felt all the seals, and checked out the passenger's side floor, and all were dry.
It's not the sunroof, because the seats are dry, the only pooling is right under the clutch pedal, which makes me think that I may have just not closed my door all the way when I got off work this morning, but before I dismiss the possible leak, I'd like some suggestions on where to look for failing seals, etc.

any ideas?

x3. clutch master.

was it raining? this happened on a trooper i used to own, it was a very slow leak from the windshield. if its not the master cylinder, check the seal around the windshield for a slow dribble.

The master cylinder is shot, and has pissed all over the mat for a while now, but it's on its merry little way down to Yodaman's tomorrow to be replaced (and the brake MC, too)
As to the paint being eaten- I'm not so concerned, since my Spring Break project will be to prime, bedline, and soundproof the floorpan and back wall. It's funny, this is the quietest vehicle I've ever drive as far as environmental noise goes (I don't hear logging trucks as they pass by) but the driveline and road noise is awful.
I will definitely check the drain holes in the sunroof, but I'm really suspecting the "door left cracked in a rainstorm" bit because the passenger side and seats are dry, and the seatbelt is saggy, and likes to interfere with the door (conspirators!)
I've felt around under the dash along the windshield seal, and it's bone dry up there, but I could have missed a spot.
Also, it's been raining off-and-on for about two weeks, and this is the first occurrence of puddling... i hope its just "operator error".

And for the record, it's like a cave in there!

hey just so you know brake fluid also eats the spray or roll in bed liner, ask me how i know!

Yep. Though, on mine it seemed to eat the paint under the liner causing the liner to peal up.

well if you follow the directions it tells you to wipe everywhere you are going to put the liner with xylene,
and if it sets and you decide to add more coats to wipe it down with xylene, and brake fluid has xylene it, it also had to eat through it to get to the paint below. and it probably eats the paint faster than the bed liner. but yes i had the same problem.

good stuff to know, thanks
brake fluid also does amazing things to hands with cuts...
