When you get called out you have to come, right?
I'll see you guys at 3!

EDIT- Does anyone have an oil fill cap for a 40 laying around they can bring me? '77 model, press fit style cap. Mine has mysteriously disappeared. I have no idea how that could happen:hmm:

Got to was wash 73,(was egged) but I'll be there.

hey...I just might bring my fj80..... just to make all your rigs look so much better. that and I prefer not to ride the Goldwing in the rain

Every Car on the street got it.

All,

Sorry I will not be able to make this one. I hope everyone has a great time and I hope to make the next one.

Rob

Did your screen name change since this afternoon? Glad to see that nice new 60. And thanks for coming out today! You're my only proof that I was the first one there for once.

We had 21 trucks make it to today's meeting!!! Lot's of new folks and some people that haven't been active in a while. No, I didn't take pics. Lots of other people did so maybe we'll see some posted here.

The owners of Tipsy Burro, Brian and his brother (sorry I forgot your name - you were the first new person I met today), came out to meet us in the parking lot when word spread that Land Cruisers were filling the lot. They're both old-truck guys. Brian has a '72 40 and his dad has a '96 80. They were both super nice to us, and I think they were genuinely happy to inspect all the trucks...out of admiration, not because we were about to spend money in their place. A bunch of our people told me that they were very pleased with the location so I'm guessing that we'll be back for the next CLT rotation in March. The parking lot was more than adequate and the restaurant was great.

I apologize if I have to ask some of you your names again. I used to remember either MUD names or real names. Now I'm lucky to remember my own. And, for the same reason, please forgive me if I have to ask if you were there today.

@Malleus Was that your daughter and wife in the stupidly clean, stock '94? Sorry we missed you this time.

@lowtops I just noticed that you needed an oil cap. I don't have one, but I'm wondering what you did - Saran Wrap and a rubber band?

@RustyR You guys have a great 40. Red, Trollhole top, super clean. Just nice. Be proud of it.

@turns earned I didn't get to see your 200. Tell your buddy to post up here about his search for an FJ43. Somebody will be able to help him. I hope your kids had a good time today.

@ZachG Did you make it out today?

@Phares even made an appearance! He's kept his red 80 remarkably clean. New tires are gonna look good under it.

More to come as I remember...

Great turn out today! I was there by 3:15 and parking was getting tight then.
Great pic @fj40alex
@JohnVee - I used a M1 oil container cap and some duct tape. :hillbilly:
The tipsy burro is a cool dive. The frito pie served open face on the frito bag is my kind of fine dining. See comment above about my oil cap to prove my point.

Great turn out ,nice seeing all the new faces ,and sweet trucks .X2 on the Frito pie!

So I went downstairs to check my stash of parts for "U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30, M1", you know, to see if maybe my memory lost track of a little known, giant sized oiler. Then I hit up my reference books. Then it hits me......Mobil 1. Oil cap. Ah, makes sense now.

For the record: This book doesn't prove me right, but it doesn't necessarily prove me wrong, either. No matter which way you look at that statement. :cautious:

I should learn how to check my mud account more often.
Ya know, I even posted this meeting on Facebook this month. This turned out to be the month of the ridiculously nice 6X's! You'd have loved it.

Yes, they were part of my troop. Sorry I missed you all .

Great to meet everyone! Thanks @JohnVee - the ankle-biters had a blast and know my buddy Martin appreciated everyone's insights on the FJ43 hunt.
