You sure you got all the bellhousing bolts out? That's the only way they can really be stuck together. Pry bar and elbow grease man!

Keep it up. Loving that you have your own truck.
 
Sometimes the input shaft can start rusting to the pilot bearing and even the splines on the clutch plate when the tolerances are super tight, it's a PITA. Even prying back and forth from side to side and patience. There are times when this occurs you can feel the spring pressure from the pressure plate.

Yeah there all out i've gone over the whole bellhousing 4 times and checked it all of them are out. The stabilizer i guess you would call it for the W56 that bolt up to the block are out. everything it out that should be to remove it from the motor.

That's what my conclusion is to why it won't budge, with it sitting for a couple years that is pretty realizable for that to be the case. Tomorrow i'm just gonna man handle the crap out of it till it comes out:zilla:.
 
Motor and transmission is OUT!!!! The trans was just stuck, all it took was kicking the living crap out of it for it to break loose and it was out, then unbolting the motor mounts one of the bolts was stripped out. I guess @GLTHFJ60 thing of can't be tight if it's a liquid LOL. after that it came right out with no problems.

Where is that frame rusted through? From the photo above it looks to be very salvageable.

It's on the inside of the frame under the cab, on the right front shackle is completely rust through, would take some pictures but there is various parts and junk under it at the moment. once i get it cleaned out i will take some pictures. When i went down to get the highsteer and all that the guy had a 1st gen 82 frame that is rust free and body (the body style i prefer), body is complete with all the parts and even a full interior, all it has is some rust on the rocker that is easy to fix. has a 22r and trans that ran that before he started to take the axles out and the bed off. all for $500, could sell the motor and trans and make some of my money back and use the transfer case as my other case for the dual cases, I'm gonna be selling parts that are still good from my truck and try to make some money off of it so with this purchase hopefully it will pay for itself.

I like the first gen bodies the most too! Are you keeping any of this truck or just parting it out, etc? I'm just now getting caught back up with your progress and I'm lost there is so much going on, lol!

So this is what the plan is, i have the 22re which is the fuel injected 2.4. the one that is in the truck that is just the 22r so its not fuel injected. I'm going to pull that engine and transmission out and do something with it, and then swap in my 22re motor into that truck. There's like 3 or 4 parts for the harness, Body, Dash and all that, headlights and horn and some other things, and then the EFI harness, So i'm going to say that harness and tap it into the other one if possible for the 22re so i can have fuel injection instead of it just having the carb. As planned i'm going to run dual cases for the big tires and lower gears, so ill pull the case off of the other one buy a dual case adapter and put the two together. I pulled the rear axle off of my truck today and that's gonna be the axle for the new truck since its the IFS width axle, and i bought a front axle the other weekend and just need a third for it and pulled my hubs off my truck and going to put them on the new axle so it will be IFS width also. Going to take my springs off of the rear axle and that will be the springs for the front, it gives about 3-4 inches when you add some leaf packs and then going to get some 63's for the rear. The rest of it i'm going to part out if i can, if none of it sells by the time i'm ready to take the cab and the frame to the scrap yard the rest will go with it. that's pretty much what i'm going to use and the plan with the truck(atleast for today AHAH). I understand about getting lost i'm also getting lost ahah, it's like i'm in a blender and someone keeps turning it from off to high lol.
 
We should time it so that when we bring the new frame and body to your house, you're ready to out the old frame and body on the trailer to bring to the scrap yard.
 
Not sure what the rules are here in NC but in Florida I had to cut up the 55 body pretry good to be able to sell it to a scrap yard. Something about them not allowed to accept vehicles. Not real sure. Just know I had to make more cuts that I would have liked just to get rid of it as scrap. Maybe no big deal here in NC. just FYI.

great project Garret. if your dad wasn't so adept at this sort of thing I would fear he might gain a few grey hairs, but for him this is a bit more like exercise while teaching you what he knows. great for you both. I hope to spend a few years With Evan rebuilding the FJ80 here.

When I was going to scrap the @jfz80 Free Candy® van, they said I could bring the whole thing if I had the title notarized. Also depends on the scrapyard though, if it's just metal recycling versus a vehicle specific scrap yard.

I'll be finding out soon, will have to get rid of my parts F550 in not too long.

I saw the frame in person on Saturday. It is completely toast. The pictures posted doesn't show the full amount of rust. The rust is everywhere and rotting the frame from the inside out. A hammer strike to the frame rail would've split the frame in half. The engine however looked great.

If i have to cut it up and all that it will be no problem for me, it will honestly be fun lol.

I figured folks would already know the rules. I didn't and found out the hard way.
 
I saw you have the cluster for sale, you may want to hang onto that until you get the wiring sorted. If you don't use it, then sell it. Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.

@Sam Stewart put a 22re in a early 80s pickup. Maybe he will see this and offer some pointers.
