Justs got an email from Toyota about the government cash for cars. I can trade in my landcruiser for any number of Toyota models and get a $4500 trade in...

NOT! It I had a stock truck and REALLY wanted to dump it, $4500 would be a decent price, however, I just hit the delete button on that email!

Yep - cash for clunkers deal with the feds. Toyota ad basically saying to come in and look at any of the qualifying vehicles to purchase from Toyota. Everything from the Prius up to and including the Sienna and Tacoma. All the Scions qualified as well.

Ain't getting rid of the cruiser!

Hell, two projects just sitting on my workbench right now - diff breather extension (just been too f'ng hot to want to spend time under the cruiser lately) and painting the center caps.

Pep Boys had the 88-00511 (nissan paint color) Duplicolor rattle can paint mentioned in the FAQ as being a match for the platinum/silver color of the center caps. Cap on the paint is a great match. We'll see what the spray is actually like. Need to clean and prep the surface first. Bought two of the finish color, one gray primer and one clear coat to do the job - less than $24 total. I'm going to tape off the black/gold center as I want to keep that. I'll take my time and put several very very light coats of the primer and finish color on per the FAQ before clear coating them.

I just tossed my caps after losing one on Mojave Rd.

Funny thing, i STILL need to do my diff breather extensions!!!!! (no joke!)

I totally agree on the heat... i have a few things i need to do.. but have been putting it off as well.
The minute i start doing anything in the warehouse i start dripping with sweat.

Trying to arrange a reciprocal tee time for sometime this Saturday, otherwise, I'll tackle this in the am Saturday before it get's to f'ng hot.

You're more than welcome to drive in if you want to.

Will be doing my breather extensions Saturday Dave. You are welcome to join me Saturday morning if you and Yosh don't have anything planned and you are able to get all you need to do them. Sent you an email too, so respond there and I'll drop you my address if you don't remember how to get there from the time we did the snorkel and winch!

BTW - to put my own thread back on track - saw an ad on TV last night - Chrysler will match the gov't cash for clunkers up to $4500 depending on model, so there you go - $9000 for your cruiser...for a Chrysler...NOT.

:hhmm: Jeep Rubicon is still a Chrysler product :hhmm: Almost $9K in rebate/cash for clunker :hhmm: Need to do for the 80: replace brake pads and rotor, finally do the Birfs, leaky gaskets from top to bottom...:hhmm:

Do the repairs!

DO NOT trade in the cruiser...you'll regret it! :D

this works only with buying a new vehicle I imagine?

damn freaks wasting my tax money....

Don't trade it in! I just traded my Subi Sti in for a 2010 Prius and hate every day until I fill up.....then I am ok, until I start driving again! LOL!!!
The LC is my only "Real engine" car and she makes me happy every day I get in it. Even though she is running like crap.

And here it is!
