Does anyone have experience removing the carb heat shield from the intake manifold...it looks like the insulator block is glued to the manifold

The block is connected to the heat shield but should come free from the manifold. You'll have to get creative depending on if you're going to keep the old one and don't want to damage or get a new one.

Chisel and hammer or a big flat head screwdriver would get in there with some persuasion
