Carb fan fix with off the shelf parts (1 Viewer)

A while back I read a post where someone had a carb fan fix using off the shelf parts to replace the carb fan sensor and thermostat. I purchased the parts and stowed them in a box for "later". Now that I want to install them I can't find the post. Tried searching any carb fan posts I could find. Any leads? The box was from Rockauto and contains a thermostat with a probe and a 5 pin relay.

Mine has the fan and factory plugs just no sensor as far as I can see

Has anyone ever used the below type of switch for any 12V power device in their 40? I've installed a carb fan to my '77 FJ40 that is not original to it. Fan power to constant 12V power with in-line fuse, and the ground to a manifold temp sensor. The manifold temp sensor I've installed works...

I remember reading that. Good information. But having purchased my parts in 2020 I'm hoping to find the post that inspired me to buy the part I did. Should have printed the thing
