Possibly my favorite 40 series of all time. GLWS!

Such a great truck. Auburn LSD rear end with rebuild was done as well.

@rockcod , Sorry I let you and the Landcruiser community down. Nobody I wheel with can afford these Soy Boy prices. :smokin:

You should not have sold it if you wanted it to stay the way it was.

**** off.

Did I hurt your little feelings? You and your kind can't buy the sort of adventures I've been on! You will never know the whole story; I gave it away as Tony did for me. GOOD LUCK WITH THE SALE :grinpimp:

@HENDOG I will truly never understand your attitude towards this truck when I purchased it and started updating the thread. Candidly, I love patina trucks as much as anyone and never would have painted it if I had been lucky enough to acquire it prior to the restoration. I have a great 78 model 40 series that has the original paint and I would never change it. I bought this truck after it had been gone through at JP's. The engine was knocking and the owner wanted to sell it.

A significant amount of time, money and attention to detail was spent to make this truck as period correct as possible. The truck had AC when I got it. I took that out. The truck had a custom front seat when I got it. That was replaced with an original setup. The truck had a radio when I got it. I took that out. I just wanted the truck to retain its originality as much as possible. Plus, it's running Super Swampers for gods sake. If I had done something dumb like installing power windows then I would understand the hate.

I would absolutely take it back to the original paint if I could but that ship sailed long before I bought it. I'm not crazy about selling the truck but I have some space issues. I get that you do not like the price but I am not making a profit on it - far far from it. I just want the truck to have a great owner. If I am unable to find that then I will keep it. No sweat.

Ok, everybody needs to take a step back and take a deep breath and holster the sharp tongues, what’s done is done. Hendog, it’s all good my friend, I would still own this truck had I fit in the cab. Being 6’2” I just didn’t fit in cab very comfortable.

Do I like what happened to “little red truck”, no not really, but that’s just me, I loved the patina and the story that went with the originality of the truck. Yes, it did have an older repaint and I was good with it. I swapped in a 2f, 4 speed/split case and 4 wheel disc to make it more driveable, I’m sure many didn’t like that I did that. I did refrain from putting power steering on it 😂
As far as the seats, radio and A/C those were done some time after I sold it.

With that being said, I love the fact it is now a 125k jewel that will go to a specific buyer and be well taken care of and enjoyed by a new caretaker.

Free Market Baby---It's the American Way. I didn't want Nolens head to get too big. I could care less what it sells for.

It's all good we both had our fun. I hadn't been on here in along time and just had to take a few laps around the Circus Maximus!
