Whoa. Lots of new bits there! What brand are the calipers? Guessing new Toyota, but always on the hunt for a good reman.
I just picked new OEM calipers from the dealer, they are a thing of beauty and really not that much more than remans.

Prep continues:
Oil changed, sample ready for Blackstone
Rear UCA's, LCA's, track bar replaced
Diff inspected and R&R'd with our patented 1.5 diff gasket(s) :D
New axles bearing kits
Front diff R&R & inspected/resealed
New steering rack

With all the hard racing, which bushings or suspension links do you find take the most punishment?

Yes. :D

All control arm and sway bushings are generally cracked out after a 1000 mile race.

Did you guys opt for only a single spare on the back, or was that PO? His OG truck had two vertical, but the truck you guys have *appears* to have a single spare laying flat spare. And it doesnt seem that you have all that many flats.

Not that it matters much, but Monica has a brief in the background cameo in "Ultimate Underdogs" on Youtube.

Geiser Brothers set it up for one and (knock on wood) that has always sufficed.

Link?

Right at ~40:15 into it.

That video is a fun watch! At least you all arent changing a transaxle on race course!

Haha!

Monica: "Peace Out!"

Don’t disrespect the class 11s. The wiring issue on that YouTube video was prep crew/operator error for sure. The co-driver, who worked in the build shop, part time maybe, had no troubleshooting skills???

In the right course-not San Felipe whoops- they are way faster than you would think. After “Dust to Glory” I couldn’t figure out why anyone wanted to race them. After seeing the present massive field of entrants, a general resurgence of the class, the last KOH class 11 race, watching “ultimate underdogs” linked above they deserve some respect too!

I’d still choose to race a Land Cruiser (again) but new class rules seem to ensure only Ford vehicles meet requirements-maxing out the “as delivered from manufacturer bit.”
BTW, Monica is a badass race truck with incredible finish percentage.

I didn't have this on my test day bingo card. Front diff imploded.

Fortunately we keep full 200/570 diffs in stock @ Cruiser Outfitters and we had a new one installed un just over an hour. Race prep continues.

Was the failed unit the original?

It was. It's been pulled down and inspected a dozen times and always looked fantastic. We have a spare but opted to install a brand new one and preserve the used spare as a spare.

This is what they are supposed to look like

That's remarkable durability. No surprise actually.

And to be clear this was the stock open diff carrier, not a locker or anything?

Is Monica running stock 3.9 gearing or regeared for the 37s?
