I noticed this last year on my route, '86 Auto 4wd. The highlights are it has 144K (indicated). the head and intake are in the passenger floor, the distributor is behind the front seat, you can see where the most all the rust is. I'm not sure about the frame condition, but obviously I'd give it a good look before I went further. I'd piddle with it, No need for it to be a daily driver. It does appear just about to be all there.

Looks like a parts rig. Automatic, obvious engine issues, etc. Say you'll haul it off for free.

Looking at that muffler, I'm going to guess on the condition of the frame. As MSAHR says, between the engine and the automatic, it's not starting off too desirable. Add in IFS, crappy bench seat, possible frame rot, and sitting for who knows how long?

I see nothing of value there whatsoever.

I checked with the guy who had it in the car yard. He told me he sold it last year for $1000 plus $100 for hauling it the 70 miles or so to Bowling Green. Said the guy was tickled to get it. I guess the frame was good? Go figure...

I guess the buyer has the answer to that :)

Looks like a dodged bullet to me. Parts lying here and there gives me the heebs. Being tickled is no indication of the 'fun' ahead for the owner. :worms:

The next time I'm through Bowling Green, I'll keep an eye out for this rig.

I'm thinking back in the '70's there was a "Toyota Excitement!" ad campaign. If so, this could be the embodiment of it.

I bet a trip to the sand blaster would prove otherwise.

I had a couple quarter-sized holes in my frame, but hit it with a needle scaler to clean it up before welding in plates. I ended up with substantial portions of the sides of the framerails disappearing and a five gallon bucket of rust flakes by the time I was done.
