A multi-pattern diff flange from Marlin Crawler showed up today. It is a confirmed fit on the 80 high pinion splines and will accept either my 62 or my 62/80 Frankenshaft. (I'll carry the fat 1/2 of the 80 for a spare).

The full float rear axle is finally getting prepped for duty.

Spring perches and UCA mounts removed to be inboarded to better match the 60 frame width...

Welded back on, primed, painted...

Just need to rebuild the hubs & brakes and throw in my locked diff.

4"lifted 60 vs. 2.5-3" lifted 80...virtually identical.

60's are just low riders in stock form. I'm measuring 4" whether I'm basing it on 60 measurements or 80. My front & rear control arms and the drag link all have a slightly steeper angle.

We went to go flex 'em both out to compare. The 80 made it a little bit further up the ramp (3-5" vertical) before losing traction at the rear wheel. Probably due to the extra weight pushing on the springs.

The rear tire stuffs nicely. There's just barely room for the 35.

Sure like the look of that FJ60! Really classic Land Cruiser.

Any updates? It's Saturday evening after all.

I kinda started tearing down the axle...

Dinner was marinated & grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, spinach/strawberry/goat cheese salad w/ a 2014 Cabernet.

I hope to throw the Duralast ebrake shoes on tomorrow, maybe rebuild the hubs & swap diffs too.

Hey keep in mind those emergency shoes don't wear hardly at all.... unless they are sticking i guess. So don't be fooled by thin pads!

These just looked like crap. Some of the material fused to the inside of the drum via the rust and pulled some chunks off when I removed the rusty discs.

The rest of the hardware in there looked like new.
