You would have to rotate a lot more than the spring perches. It's the link bracketry that determines the pinion angle. You're still in leaf spring mode.

Much easier to just use adjustable upper links.
 
I could cut the upper link brackets while I'm in there and rotate the housing if needed. DIY adjustable links are $230, adjustable upper links are $375, so neither of those are happening.

I'll post pics and monitor for noise.

if you were going to run the FJ60 split case....what would be the downside to something like this, which I understand can be an dapater and a hi-low box too. BlackBox-c Land Cruiser Edition

You could make some adjustable upper links with heims on the cheap which would be way better than cutting perches and moving them.
 
And as far as gearing goes, if you want lower diff gears for the street (lower high range essentially), and you want a lower low range but 4:1 is too low, Marks makes a set of gears with .88 hi-range and 2.81 low-range. And they make a set with .88 hi-range and 3.1 low-range. I would think this is the best way to kill two birds with one gear (two gears actually).

beno posted up a part# earlier, but it's a 80 series disc/disc/non-abs. Maybe a '94.

It looks (and feels, when it worked) exactly like the booster from the donor, which had rear drums.

I'll add a proportioning valve, if needed.
 
Did you get rid of the 60 LSPV or just zip tie it open?
 
The 60's never had them (just the 62), and I ditched the one from the 80.

The two brake circuits go directly to each axle.
 
which axle assembly do have hanging on the rear now? Post up some feedback on the brakes after a few days.....

There will be no more testing, as I don't want to risk breaking anything. It will have a trial by fire in Utah (Hole in the Rock trail).
 
ok so it has a different booster and mc...that was throwing me off and I was not tracking on teh semi-float 80 axle....the mud is getting clearer now.. :)
 
The semi-float is messing with my head too. Cam will be addressing that soon. Got it figured out myself. Full float wins.

Way looking forward to the trial by fire.


And edit: Tom is getting his stuff done and will have welder in hand, so even if it breaks, it's NBD.
