I thought I would sneak out and throw some if the new parts in the motor and ran into my first problem...

The corvette exhaust manifolds do not clear the advance adapter motor mounts.

Not by much though. The mounts might could be trimmed and still have enough meat left. It's only off the distance of the width of a bolt.

Looking down, there's not much clearance between the frame and the flange.

But it's better than the truck manifolds, they have the collector pipe pointed right at the frame, and that's a best case scenario - I might have to shorten the motor mount bracket. It's on the widest hole right now.

Looks like a easy fix on the exhaust manifold to mount issue. Those are nice manifolds....its crazy how so much is modular on that engine series.

Is this done yet Cam?

Andy wants to know....

I'm trying to give you a healthy head start!

After the Cruiser Crawl, it's AWN!

What ?! I thought it was done! Crawl is right around the corner

Pic posted for future reference.

New brake switch with extra reversed output to control TC lockup and cruise control.

My new wiring harness and re-programmed computers showed up. I ended up going with Pacific Fabrication.

I haven't seen many reviews of their harnesses (zero bad press), but they seemed pretty knowledgable about the engine series as a whole and sticking them into a wide range of vehicles. Hot rods to daily drivers to KOH trucks. I felt like I was getting a custom product vs. some of the bigger outfits that crank out one size fits all harnesses by the dozens. I was also able to talk with someone each of the few times I called. That went a long way too.

I'm impressed with what I see so far. Every connection and loose wire is clearly labeled. The loom and tape looks factory. The fuses and relays come in a waterproof housing, and there's even some helpful instructions. The thing even smells nice. Like fine leather. Don't know what's up with that, but I like it.

Hopefully I can finally start making some progress soon.

I am ready to come over and tear into this badboy

Hayull yea! I need to strip down the engine bay and prep it to receive the new heart.

I need to rebuild the t-case first, too. Has anyone gotten all the bearings out without a press or special pullers?
