I would contend that having the carport forever smell like gear oil is infinitely better than having the interior of your 80 forever smell like gear oil.
Not that I ever wheeled with a poorly closed bottle of gear oil in there before...

I also got the Monte Carlo gas pedal today.
Shortest arm available (I think) and the only one with a straight drop.

I found this ball bearing under the truck after pulling a bunch of stuff loose. No idea where it came from, or if it was even from my truck.
Could be left over from my rear 3rd debacle. Maybe it would've made that Spartan work.... Nah.

Spring under trucks need a little extra clearance under the oil pan. The truck pan is probably fine for street I've heard of at least one guy who cracked the truck pan taking it off a sweet jump.
The solution is an F-Body Camaro pan. Gets you a few extra inches of clearance.
superchevyperformance.com sells the new parts at a lower cost than the going rate of clean used parts on eBay.
Also needed is the matching pickup tube, windage tray and dipstick.
Check out the sweet pan gasket that comes with the pan. It is way better than the $&?@%# cork gasket on the 2F.

I also got my set of exhaust manifolds. Turns out they are brand new!
In other news... my AA adapter and Lokar shifter were "delivered" yesterday, but weren't on the porch when I got home from work. So they were either mis-delivered or stolen
