Has anyone found L-track fittings that would allow one to mount cross bars (for carrying a kayak, for example) atop the campteq? I've researched a fair bit looking for towers to which one could then mount cross bars, but I have so far come up short.

You could use these studs, drill a hole in your crossbars and mount to the studs.
M10 Threaded Stud

Thanks. Possibly, if I found a long enough bolt. Ideally the crossbars would be 4-6" above the top of the camper to accommodate boat rocker.

That website looks very useful - hadn't seen it.

Ran into Eric a couple weeks ago, he's still making them. He's constantly on the move working jobs/projects. Send him an email to get on the "list," I think it's here or in one of the other campteq threads.

your really gonna cut the top of that mint rig??

Lets just say that if the quality can meet my expectations with the roof cut and also the tent with regard to construction and materials I would cut it. I love my Alu-Cab, but having access from inside and the ability to make a pseudo small camper setup would really complete my rig.

Best,

John~

After spending many of nights in a Maltec cabin its a game changer over any RTT. I look forward to cutting my roof after my doors get installed.

For now they are safely stored.

Hey Phil - do you have a sense yet of whether those barn doors will fit with the rear opening of the hatch 80 body? - T

The mac’s tie down M10 are a great product and I have used them. For a boat I might look at some kind of interior support inside the boat so that the boat could nest down low on the top verse sitting high above. Can you give some dimensions of the boat?

It has been great roaming around and bumping into so many cruiser enthusiasts. I have been building a couple of tops and interiors for 2 77 series trucks in California. Roof cutting is totally a game changer. Wind, rain, and cold temps are inevitable while being outside. Here are a couple pics of some new interior layouts I have done. LCP is always on point and will be styling with those barn doors.

How does the floor space of your new builds compare to the 80 series?

Liking the new drawer fridges with the tiny ice box:clap:

What is the floor tip open access?

I just experience poptop build without an upper bed given the ability for some 6' to be sitting upright without the top up. Now thats game changing and a strong possibility for me going forward.

Hey Eric - it's Taylor. I used these with a foam hull pad. Totally bomber for weeks in Baja. Four straps; two over the top of the boat, two through its side rails.

Eric or anyone -

Any pics of finished portion of the roof cut on the older style headliner as mine is a 1997... Looking for some detail on how its finished off and the final look with the tent installed.

Kind regards,

John-

Thanks - Great thread and nice pics... Some of the pics near the sunroof show some sagging roof material or something else... Just trying to see some finer details of the end product..

Will just have to wait for @LandCruiserPhil to start cutting!

Cheers.
