That is a great area. You can catch small German Brown Trout in some of the deeper pools with spinners. I have had good luck with Panther Martins. I lived in Flagstaff in the early 90's and spent lots of time in Clear Creek. I have not been back in many years. If we were not already going to Big Lake and Reservation Lake we would join you.

What are you camping in Mark? Looks like I will be working this weekend... again....

Camping at Clear Creek this weekend.
Weekend weather forecast:
Phoenix weather 112° - 87°
Clear Creek weather 87° - 50°
No chance of rain:clap:

Decided to wait until next weekend to go. Instead of being in the high eighties it's suppose to be in the low eighties with a better change of rain. Even when I used to camp the afternoon monsoon rains were welcome. Just as it startes to warm up you get a shower and it cools everything off. It normally stops after about a half a hour. Ground drys pretty quick. Then before it can warm up again the sun is going down. Plus once the rains start the forest service usually lifts the fire restrictions.

FYI I did notice the fire restrictions included the use of a generator from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Not sure if anyone was planning on using one. With the reduced number of roads it is going to be easier for the forest service to patrol the area.

What are you using for weather conditions for the area? I use Happy Jack and Long Valley. Looks like a warmer forecast.

Either way it will be cooler then Scottsdale:clap:

I use the same site as your first link. 88 and 89 are high eighties. It will be warmer in Peoria but I have A/C and a pool. Plus a way to cool off the garage. Even if I did come up my 70 FJ40 would be staying in the garage. I bought it because it was a one owner original with no mods planned. But I know all to well how stuffy it gets inside with no rear ventilation. When I first got my 68 I tried opening the back hatch and resting it on the spare tire but the fumes were over powering. I later installed installed vent windows from a later model. Then went with a soft top. But it is still waiting for a clutch.:frown: The FJ62 has A/C. Plus I finally got the bull bar installed and need to try it out.

Great camping area....Thanks to Phil for setting this up...Great scenic drive on the way home...Will post pics soon
