No hardcore riding but mainly a family truck and weekend warrior adventures/hunting/fishing trips too. Occasionally I will take off with my club to ride in the mountains.
Originally the plans when I were to get a LC was to put a small lift on the truck this was before I even considered a LX.
So does it sound like a good deal or not?

with your plans, to me it sounds like a descent deal. I don't keep up with the sticky'd "buy it or not" thread so im not sure of the price, Seems like you could do the 90K and oils and be on your way to a sweet 100.

I would buy it, I love the LX (except the front), you get nicer seats, sound system, projector headlights, way nicer wood, and the list keeps going.

hope to see some pics of it!

BBQ - I agree with 2000UZJ. The "neglect" to maintenance has not been so bad that you will end up eating $$$ because of it. I would try and negotiate the 90K, front accumilator replacement and bearing service into the price, if possible. The broken trim can either be lived with or replaced at your leisure.

This of course is nothing more than another $0.02. Good luck.

JB - I do have to stress that I have been extremely please with the 100's performance off road. I do not rock crawl, but everything else has been a ton of fun and with the truck being 99% stock, I have been amazed. It will treat you right, and comfy while doing it!

Welp gents, I just wired the money and my 100 will be here next week! I am so stinking excited! It's a 2000 LC, silvery tan w/ 134k. First things to go are the running boards and the stupid fender flares on the fender flares. Just stupid. Next I will strip the gold and paint the emblems black and possibly the wheels while I'm at it.

Hopefully around Christmas I will get some 285's. Maybe duratracs, maybe Nitto trail grapplers or toyo mt's. can't decide...

Ahhh so excited! me---> :bounce2::bounce2::steer::cheers:

JB - That looks clean. I would try and get that 90K service included and see how negotiable they are. Given the mileage, I would also find out how comprehensive their maintenance documentation is. Make sure they are not riding on the original shocks and just see how well it has been taken care of. if it has been well taken care of, as photos can be deceptive, you could have a great truck there.

Good Luck,

Jonathan

Sold already....damn. Oh well, I'll put the Yukon on the market and see if anyone bites.

Hoping to join the ranks very soon. I am going to look at a 2000 with 134k on the dial on Saturday. If everything goes well, I hope to make an offer and pick it up. Been lurking for a short time, but have done a lot of research on these things. Very nice site, lots of good information.

Welcome to the mud, man. Lots of us seem to be in the same boat. Good luck with your purchase!

I spent about 18 months (off and on) looking before I found the right one so don't get discouraged. There's a lot of junk out there! And a lot of dealers with unrealistic prices. I think Toyota only imported around 9k per year, so there's not a lot to be had.

I'm down in Melbourne, FL and found what appears to be an outstandingly clean, low mileage 2003 Landcruiser, one owner, black with only 38,500 miles, rear DVD, NAV etc. Dealer is okay at $26, 500, but with a $700 dealer fee. I had an outisde mechanic/body shop do a once over and nothing immediately popped up. Not a single modification -- just a grocery getter for a soccer Mom. They traded it in on a Corolla, and I was there when they were still cross-loading the items.

Looking at the posts, perhaps this is still high, kind of hard to gauge the low mileag aspect>>>

What do y'all think?

Grab it. My opinion.

Is there any specific ares where rust is prominent? I got a lot of pics today, the only place that he said there is rust was on the hood above the head light. The truck had some minor scratches around the body, and the interior was pretty clean other then the third row seats.

It is high, but as a point of reference, I looked at a 2000 LX in Seattle that was missing the 3rd row with 38k on it and couldn't get below $22.5k before someone else bought it. A 2nd 2001 LX also in Seattle with similar miles went for $26.5k. Then I found a dealer in Reno with a 2000 LX with 9,500 miles on it asking $22.5. That one sold the same day it hit CL, hours before I called.

It all depends upon what the seller is willing to go for and the buyer is willing to give. If the 2006 has been well cared for and you doubt you'll be able to find another like it then get it! If it's run-of-the-mill then walk.

Get it, it's a good price in my opinion.

I'd buy it. My 2003 had 89k miles, no rear DVD and was immaculate underneath. I paid $23k. Felt I overpaid a little, but the vehicle was the color, year and mileage I was looking for. You might be paying $2k too much (as I probably did), but probably not.

Saw a nice black CPO 2007 at one of my local dealers, and a beat to hell horrible POFS 2000 in white that just got traded in...that should get crushed.

Just found a mint condition on owner 2005 with 36,000 miles. Seller is firm at $36,000. What do you guys think? I was hoping to find one for $30,000 or less.

Nice truck, but I'd walk. Not worth it. You'd be way into the 40's by the time you go her tricked out!
