FWI: Just saw this in my Facebook feed. Seems pretty decent for a silver 2001 with GOOD under body "lack of rust" pics @ only 144K miles. Asking $6,999. Has some off road damage to the drivers rear quarter panel... Apparently has issues with an engine cylinder... People here are BRAVE!!! :)

Located in IL.

Not saying I would buy it at that price, but negotiate and... Well, you never know

Ok, Fairly new to the board but was my "Goto" forum for info on my LX.

Here's my situation. My Mustang GT might be getting bought back from the dealership due to some mechanical issues. That will put me in the position to close, the deal on a tundra 5.7 trd. If I do that the lx will become superfluous and I will be selling it to another aficionado.

1999 lx470 Approx 142k miles ( still driving as GT is in the shop still)
Technically third owner ( 1st owner for most of life, second owner sold in three months to cover wedding cost, I'm third owner). The Last owner and I are responsible for about the last 5k miles.

Service history from car fax and Lexus site is complete. But the relevant high points are
49 k 45k service ,plus replaced tailgate cables , replaced fuse lock for retracting mirrors
60k touchuo paint for smoky topaz
69k 30k 60k service plus new brake light bulbs, wiper blades, new rear differential ( lsd was locking up) repaired seat
85k 40k and 75k service , plus replaced daytime lights, replaced alt belt
110k complete repaint at dealership smoky topaz ( covered by world class service)
117k 30k and 90k service done. Alignment, replaced rack and pinion , replaced #5 coil, valve cover gaskets, tube seals, waterpump, cam and crank seals, alt belt, timing belt, thermostat
119k replaced starter
125k oil change
And oil changes since then

I replaced tires with 285/75/16 KO2 about 1k miles ago ( discount tire with warranty) Did brake job, replaced gas struts in hood and tailgate, and lubed all driveline fittings, did mild ahc lift and topped off ahc fluid ( with enough left over for a flush) and performed running board ectomy ( still have them in storage)

ZERO rust anywhere and interior is in great shape with no tears to leather

What doesn't work: telescope function in for steering wheel (manually set to my preference) and cat shield rattle ( hopefully fixing today)

Everything else functions as it should , pics are available here on my previous posts. Title in hand

So,the question is what's a fair price for this?

If the buyback falls through I'm keeping it, but if I end up with a tundra, then two big rigs are more than I need.

Last Thursday, I picked an '05 LX470 up for my mom. One owner, 170k miles, impeccable service history from the dealership it was bought from. As my mom said after she saw it, it doesn't look more than a couple years old. Was priced for $18k, but I think he would have taken $17.5k for it. Since I work for a dealer, he let me have it for $16.5k.

Looking into 1999 LX 470. 170k miles. When I put it into 4L center diff light automatically comes on. Is this normal. I can select and deselect in 4h but not 4L. Also concerning the AHC system should I be able to go to all three levels in 4L and 4h? Will a Toyota dealer know what there doing if I bring it in.

I have a 99 LX and never noticed this... I'll check tomorrow morning and let you know what "my" normal is.

Regarding AHC, from Low, it will go to N once you hit second gear. From High, I think mine goes back to N once I get to around 20'ish MPH. I'll double check that as well.

Should have more firm answers by mid morning.

I think up to year 2000, in the LX 470 if you put it in 4lo the center diff will automatically come on. Thx for verifying Steve

Ok. I verified that on a 99, the center diff automatically locks when the transfer case is shifted to LO.

AHC goes from L to N when you hit second gear, and from H to N when you get to 20'ish MPH.

Value?

What's a supper clean, everything (I do mean everything, and then some) done in last ~5K miles by the book including windshield, starter & Tee's, base lined, zero rust, straight and looks & drives like new WORTH?

This is one fine example of a one owner 01 LX470 NO NAV.
It's been a project of mine, going through it end to end system by system over a nine month period. I wanted see how; well, average & poorly maintained series 100's with high mileage hold-up. This was the lower millage and best condition of three I purchased this year. Each subsequently had higher mileage and progressive poorer service (maintained) performed. I learned a lot and had fun working on them, but now the garage is closed for the winter:crybaby:. I've no doubt 100's will last as long as one is willing to properly maintain. Properly maintained 100's keeps cost of ownership down, value up and admired by all. Zero rust, straight frame & body are what I seek.

Looking at a few 06 & 07's. I have an 80 and will be using the 100 to DD. Don't care about LC vs LX as my 80 is already expo'd out and this vehicle will be kept relatively stock.

Looking at a few in TN - can anyone help me out on a question? Does TN use much/any salt on their roads? Nashville in particular?

Going to try and work on price. Is low 20's a good target for a 06-07 with 90-120k miles? Thanks!

I'd not pay, but seeing 06-07 go for $25 to $30 show room fresh with 50K to 75K, over last six months

Just picked up 06 LX. Every option including the night vision. Timing belt, CVs, and water pump all done in last 3 months.

Paid about $21,500 in GA.
