Great info. I would have guessed more.

Unfortunately, mine is the least rare category

What would be really cool is if you could find the paint color breakdown......

Yeah, I asked for that but she was unable to provide the color breakdown. Perhaps, I'll dig some more.

seems like with the pending redesign the 07's will be the most rare???? as much as i'm hoping the new 08 is a great rig, i so fear the redesign will screwup that 'land cruiser look'. oh well, i now have the 07 and whether the 08 is the best or the worst design ever, i still love my truck.

    interesting data hoser. thanks.

Interesting. Anybody know why such a big drop from 2000 to 2001?

At least over here the 07 will be rare.
Asked a dealer about getting a 2007 model (thought of upgrading while they are still good-looking), but was told I can't have one. They don't comply with new emission control regulations, was the explanation, although I see that Toyota in EU countries still list the 100 on their web sites.
    Like this LC-500 http://de.toyota.ch/cars/new_cars/land_cruiser_100/index.asp :)

:) Local naming of some versions is usual. Remember the LC100 is called Land Cruiser Amazon in the UK. What we (in Spain) call just "Land Cruiser" is the Prado in many countries (120/125 model), and the previous model (90/95) is called "Meru" in Venezuela, Toyota (not LC) Prado in Japan and other countries, or Land Cruiser Colorado in the UK.
A confusing mess for the non-initiated.

I suspect those figures will bounce back up to the 10k+ units range once the 200 series comes out. Who wants to buy a 10 year old body style for $60k? ;p

I like driving something so nice that is much less common and more capable than most of the other stuff you see around. My last 2 vehicles prior to the purchase of the 100 series were both Fords (F-250 and Excursion both V-10's)... No comparison with the Toyota. Lovin the new Cruiser and it feels good to be in a Toyota again (still miss my trusty old 4-Runner)....

The sales dropoff coincide with the introduction of the Sequoia.

The LX/LC numbers are pretty interesting. Almost a 2:1 ratio eventually.

My guess that's because buyers in this market ($50K+) are looking for a luxury SUV. If you take the LC and add on the upgrades, the price is similar to that of the LX, yet you still get a few more features on the LX like memory seats, Mark Levinson, etc. that are not available on the LC. These numbers also help explain why used LX's are more plentiful than LC's of the same year...there are just more of them!

My feeling is Toyota buyers tend to buy for the longer term (or buy with the intention of keeping it longer eventhough they may not in reality), while new luxury car buyers (lexus/benz/bmw market) tend to want the latest, most stylish cars and change vehicles every few years, hence more newer LX's (< 60K mi) for sale.

yup! Jim, we were looking at a 4runner in 2000 to replace our 96 4runner. We then thought, why not upgrade to something a little larger. So we looked at the LC and then i said why dont we just get the LX since we are already going to get all these options, the LX has them standard.

So we ended up getting the LX over the LC just because we were already paying the same price, why not get something that looks higher class(to some...i stll cant decide which i think looks better)
