Come on!!!!!!!!! Where are the details???????
... and the rest of the pics!

Sorry! I asked before refreshing the tread!

Man, great stories! Glad to hear no mechanical issues have appeared! Keep it coming!

Alright, this morning I woke up later than my cell phone alarm was set by 2 hours, so it is just getting light out and I have decided not to back track to the badlands this time around. The FJ40 started up again with no issue, so I am hoping for another problem free day of driving and should be arriving home tonight when the sun is going down.

As Judge Smails would say:

"Well....we're waiting?"

^ Sorry, I got home about 5 hours ago, everything went well. Basically all of mn and sd that I drove through today was a pretty boring sight, so I will upload those pics tomorrow.
The plans for this rig is a very mild restoration, lift, winch and snorkel. And fix the oil leak it has I already added some UV dye and powerwashed it clean so just got to drive it around some more. Also my jobsite is fairly close to itasca state park, so one of these days soon here I am going to check off early from work and head up to the northwoods for some sweet pics.

I do not, but my mom grew up not far away from there and my uncle owns some land up there with trails on it.;)
I live north of st.cloud

Ah. I spend a few weeks every summer in the Big Fork, Marcell area north of Grand Rapids. Still have family in the state, I love it there.

My parents live in Sebeka.
Did you check you fuel mileage by any chance?
I have not yet....But I have a pile of receipts to figure the average out with.

glad the trip worked out with no problems. thanks for sharing the trip with us!

Great story - including getting pulled over (as I did, in 1992). Thanks for sharing - brought back great memories of SD, which I also visited on my cross-country FJ40 trip. Memories like this are one reason I still own this truck, in spite of owning 5 other FJs of various types.

Thanks guys, now that I am home I can start working on it. Already added some shackles and did some undercoating work.

^
That is my uncles Garage, I built it for him with some friends a couple years back in exchange for having use of it basically whenever I want. I have a 4 post lift at home, but my ceiling is only 10ft so it is kinda pointless, also he has better lighting :P

10ft ceilings would work OK if you had the top off... and had no cage in it.
