Buying an fj40 plan to drive it 850 miles home what should I check?

Back in 05 my wife and I did the best road trip we had so far from central CA to Nevada to Utah to Wyoming to Montana to Idaho back to Nevada to Tahoe in CA and back to Arroyo Grande CA! It wasn't in a 40 (I didn't have mine back then) but totally awesome!

We had lots of shorter ones but hope to go around again some time!

85 octane gas at high(er) altitudes yields about the same performance as 87 octane at lower elevations due to the reduction in atmospheric pressure. You'll commonly find it at the pumps in several western states, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and so on.

On me I will be wearing my winter jacket (Rei triad parka), jeans, winter boots, and carrying my laptop bag which includes my cell phone charger, tether for my phone for internets, camera, laptop, dc to ac converter, headphones for music.

We are all drifting off topic.... Epic journey for sure...

But there were those early on saying he should trailer the rig, way too risky to drive that distance. Then he picks up a random ride share chick..... this is getting epic!

What WOMAN would be crazy enough to hitch a ride in a 40 with a stranger for that distance (and the 40 is an unknown quantity!!)??? This is either how a horror flick starts, or a porn flick. Either way, I find the story entertaining!!!

Most people that I have offered rides to didn't really care what I was driving. I was driving and they were not. I guess they figured that a short ride was better than no ride at all. Always got them where I was going or some point in between. Some more interesting than others......
