you forget something important and that's it your tranny .. guess you have a H55F and you are not really interested on top speed .. anyhow I wouldn't go over 4.56 to keep rpm on acceptable range at HW speed ..
are you suggesting 4.56 ratio because of the weight?

I like to follow along here, amazing how this truck keeps changing. I too have a 12HT, but run 3.70's on my 60 wagon
with the H55. I installed a set of the Marks 3.0:1 Lo t case gears, and it has a bit more overdrive 8%? I think. What happened is I was
trying to recover a guys trailer in high range, and with the extra overdrive I had a heck of a time just trying to maneuver on this really steep
hill. So I was forced to shift into lo range. My truck was fully loaded around 6800 lbs with all my gear and RTT.
I think in your case, 4.56 gears would be good for the weight you carry. I'd normally say stick with the 4.11's but with the 33's and weight
that you are I'd go a bit lower. Have you done anything to lower your t case gears? The AA kit is 4.0:1 lo gears and they underdrive
your high range, so if you looked at that I would say stay with the 4.11's.
I always look long term on my builds, cause you wouldn't want to pay to set up a set of lockers on one gear set, then a year later
do a t-case gear set and have to pay again for another locker set up.
Anyhow, love the rig and all the stories. J

thx cruiserpilot, i just want to add here that in addition to the weight i will also be towing my motorcycle side on a trailer. so there is the 10,000 pound weight of the vehicle, a trailer (about 1,500 pounds with the sidecar) 33" diameter tires. don't know if you seen this charts 4Lo.com :: Gear Ratio & Tire Size Chart as you can see this chart is suggesting 4.88 ratio. what do you think? thx

if you don't mind going slow or rpm to high 4.88 could be a good choice ..

Take what you have right now at 60mph and rpm wise and go figure you are going up in the rpm range for the same speed on each R&P jump you take ..

New Year good wishes to you. It's been a while since I've checked out how your project is going. I cannot recall if you fitted a GTurbo along the way. I'm just thinking that if you haven't it could resolve your power situation without having to go to the expense of changing gear ratios. You'd keep your comfortable cruising speed and lift your power output.

broken axel. i have been driving with one axel through out my trip in Baja, good thing i have aussie lockers. these are bobby longfield axel with lifetime guarantee, but as you know bobby longfield have passed, apparently trail gear bought the brand. trying to sort this out now.

Next week i am connecting my lockers to the twin ARB compressor. my question: should i put an air tank if yes what size? should i use a 1 gallon or a 2 gallon air tank? the compressor are for the lockers and inflating tires. i have no plan to to use the compressor for air tools. thx

For an expedition rig like this, I'd go with at least two gallons of air in a tank! Filling up tires, seating beads, running air tools, etc.

Front and rear ARB lockers - done
re geared from 4:11 to 4:88 - done
1 gallon air tank - done
access to air is outside the rig - not pictured

thank you all for the positive comments, here is a little up date; we are now in the process of building the tow vehicle for Nulla it will be a motorcycle with a side car here is the bike should have a rolling chassi by May (hopefully). the side car will be trailered. when we get to camp we do not want to break camp, this will allow us to take the sidecar to explore the area.... thx againView attachment 1050766

remember our tow vehicle? here is an update, it turn into a camper. here is the link on the build Building a sidecar "camper". | Page 7 | Adventure Rider

Wow... That's pretty cool..!!

mmm! air lockers, now im hungry again.

I have seen a bunch of full floater axle shafts breaking lately. wtf? I thought they were tough? That is a weird looking break. How much does your rig weigh in at now? Hope you saved your receipt for that longfield. I hope trailgear with honor that return. Eaton makes a 1 tonne plus pretty tough full floater axle. 3rd member style like the cruiser but it has a centered diff.
