@Kmonty66 ...in post #12 you indicate rear axle work, but I see rear disc brakes. Front or rear. I rear, tell us about them, please.
LCnAZ,

the front and rear axle's are from an 1996 80 (not the same vehicle) so disc's are stock. Does that answer your question?

Progress on the front brackets.

this rig is going to be a weapon after all of this is done. Last time I seen it was a year ago in aptos. Much has happened I see

MrK. and now your in Davis, that a ways away from Santa Cruz my friend! I hope all is well with you and the Family!
Everything is great, just busy with work, family and wrenching on the rig. When your car is done we should meet up and grab a brew. Hope you and family is doing good as well.

80 axle/coils swapped over today. @matthews940 and AJ have both helped out tremendously on this little project with me being sick the last 7-8 days. These are my custom TourFlex 2" tapered wire lift coils. We designed it based off a 2" lift. So if you want a 1" lift ... Order a 1" lift coil... Want a 3" lift... order a 3" lift coil. Perfect 1" rake on this rig. Should dial in around 4 degrees of caster and ride amazing with the custom tapered TourFlex coils

We tested 3 coil sets today and we are at a perfect inch to inch ratio. Stock coils-- no lift, 2" coils-- 2" lift, 3" coils-- 3" lift.

Have all the little stuff to button up on this and then on to more conversions. Final weld out in the morning.

J

Some front end progress.

@TRAIL TAILOR and "AJ made custom extended front sway bar brackets for the front 80 sway bar this morning. Suspension cycles beautifully from coils 1" off/loose from the buckets to 2" compressed."

New Proforged TREs, all new bushes and new MOOG sway links and bolts.

Got most everything welded out this morning too.

@Kmonty66 The ride is second to none. Those tapered wire coils, 41mm bore Tough Dog foam cell shocks and a true 1:1 lift ratio/aspect all come together for the perfect ride.

We took it for a ride and I ran it pretty hard looking for every pothole, bump, alley way and dirt road I could find. At 60 MPH it rides as nice as my 100. We saw a 20MPH BUMP AHEAD sign and punched it. AJ was looking to hold onto something. Hit it around 45-50mph, looked over and he was smiling ear to ear.

It's scheduled for an alignment on Wednesday. All it needs is some toe in. Looks like we're at 5.5 degrees of caster. Steering is tight and handles great. That typical floaty 60 handling feel is completely gone now.
