that would be a hell of a better solution, but for $849 i'd save my clams a couple more months and buy a steel bumper.

As for the hardware, all stainless steel studs, hose clamps are painted black, and nylon locking nuts and washers. The hardware quality is top notch. Yes, Paul was correct. The seams on mine are not as smooth as the TJM. I never payed attention to the seams on the SS, but if somebody can take a photo of there SS that would be great. I will try and get comparison shots between a real SS and mine. I don't really expect to see a huge difference but you never know.
You would better off spending the money on a rear bumper that was designed with a spare swing out... But, if you just dont want an aftermarket rear bumper this would be a better solution:

I read all the thread, and I can tell that after 4 or 5 snorkels installations by my self of different vendors & on different rigs (Safari, Air flow, Ironman, Toyota, on Series 70, 80, 90, & N Patrol) , the templates were not perfect in none of them, and all of them look with the same quality, the SS is the better detailed on the seams but is not a big difference. If the price is not a factor to be considered, I would take the SS, but the this china version for half of the price, it looks TO ME the most suitable option to me!
Still mounted on there rock solid. The truck will be sitting in the GA heat for many weeks to come with very little driving. This will be a good test of the quality.Yes, it was purchased off eBay. Looks like shipping went up quite a bit. The 80 Series guys have been snatching them up left and right. I think the seller realizes we mudders have found these.

The truck seems to have better throttle response. Seems a bit peppier above 40MPH. I assuming this is due to a ram air effect.
can you post a link on who and where you bought it from?
i've read your posts a couple of times and are you saying the snorkels for the 80's will fit the 100's?
that looks like ****. The one I posted is OEM and would just need the inside mounts fabbed because the US version dont have them.
he had three of the them like yours up last night. Today... all gone. Guessing others on here saw them and snatched them up...Sorry, the 80 snorkels are different. I don't see the exact snorkel I bought off eBay currently. The seller is "jdmmotorsports" IIRC. Here is his link for the 80 snorkel:Snorkel Kit Toyota Landcruiser Land cruiser 80 series Lexus LX 450 89-97 4x4 4WD | eBay
He may have a 100 Snorkel up for sale, I am not sure. Let me know what you decide on doing if you pull the trigger on a snorkel. The seller also claimed the package was 36lbs. I came to found out it was 11lbs. I think he is doing this to up the shipping costs. Not a fan of his method, but oh well.

that snorkel doesnt look bad at all, and something to keep an eye on.... I find the "Land Cruiser" imprint interesting... Kind of like the factory ones on 70-series.
Good luck with that!

Even though shipping was gouging a little, was it packed well? Coming from Malaysia would be a rough trip and I doubt you'd have much recourse if it got broken in transit.
Snorkel material is LLDPE.
i would like to see how you hooked everything up.
Did you want to see the entire intake system or just how the snorkel connects to the airbox?
