Budget Snorkel Review

Another thing I would really like to see is the differences between the templates for this budget version, the Safari, and the tjm. I mean I am all for trying a budget version. However it would really suck to install one of these...find out later the quality doesn't hold up...order a safari or tjm and the holes you already made wont work and now have to get a new fender and repair the a-pillar before installing the Safari or tjm. Perhaps we can get a template from all three to compare?

I wish I had kept the template. I will try and source a Safari template, and contact the seller of the snorkel I have and see if he will send me another. Its a replica, so I would think the templates are the same. I don't see how it would be different

Hopefully we can get all three templates to compare. I am hoping they are the same.... But you know... It would suck if they werent. Good news is, If any one is going to rip this thing off quickly... I am pretty sure it would be you. So, I know it will get abused! And that will be a good measure of quality.

It looks really good! Like you said it fits really well to the body and I like the Land Cruiser on the side of it. Good job!

looks good Nick. Takes some balls to lean into a drill like that, glad it turned out well.

Try to come up to Alpharetta one day this week and compare it to Will's Safari Snorkel, at least we can get a better comparison as far as quality. Unless you know someone nearby with a 100 series snorkel.

That works for me, I'll talk to Will tomorrow.

I might look at doing this. I have to replace the panel after a delivery truck decided to back up into it last week.

You can't compare Nick's snorkel to the TJM. They have different routing. I think the only snorkel you can compare it to is the new Safari.

Actually the new Safari Snorkel is a different design and definitely would not work with this budget version. Perhaps the older Safari Snorkel... If you could find one.

And looking back more at the TJM, I see what you mean. So, it seems like waiting for a longer term review might be a smart move for me....

LOL. moderation

That company has stock tire carriers available as well. I wonder If I could find the inside plates or if I would need to get a fab shop to roll some steel to match the inside contours.
