I began the process of installing new pads and rotors on my 94’ fzj80 today(not manual locking hubs). I am unclear on the torque specs and order on installing hub components and the hub itself(rookie mistake on my part) and my haynes manual isnt giving me the info i need. When reinstalling my bearings in the hub, the inner bearing(closest to the axle) could slide back and forth a little. Is this normal? Also the how do i reinstall the hub bolts and washer with tabs? How do i torque theses down? Curious because they came off with little effort like they were only supposed to be finger tight. Anything im forgetting on the reinstall process? Also how do i make sure the hub is on correctly, not too tight or too loose?
-thanks

When reinstalling the hub you need to make sure the bearings were packed with grease, don't go crazy with the amount inside the hub but use a moderate amount.

You will feel some resistance from the wheel seal as it seats on the spindle. Then you install your washer with the notch at 12 oclock. The inner nut should be torqued to 45ft lbs to seat everything. Rotate the hub a few rotations ( brake caliper should not be on yet). Back the inner nut back off and retorque to about to 25-30 ft lbs. Spin the hub and make sure it all feels good. Install the lock washer, outter nut torque to 45ft lbs. Bend the tabs over. At least 1 for inner nut and 1 for outter.
Now install the cailper.
