Is it safe to use my bottle jack to jack up my truck by putting it on the axles, right in past the tire, instead of on part of the frame? The lowest point on my frame is 22'' high... so it can't quite reach :)

Also would it be safe to put it on one of the A-arms on the IFS?

On the side of the road to change a flat its safe enough. There are limited places you can use bottle jacks on these trucks because of their good ground clearance.

I wouldn't use it for anything else. Changing a tire you don't need to get under the truck while its on the jack.

Bottle jacks can tip over.

Bottle jacks are fine for lifting the truck, but aren't the most stable, watch the truck carefully, if it shifts, the jack to axle contact point angle changes, looks like it’s going to slip out, let it down and start over at a slightly different angle. Never get under any part of the truck when it’s supported by a bottle jack, as soon as it’s up lower it on a jack stand.

Howdy! Yup, been there, and done that, just about 3 weeks ago, eh Kevin?? Make sure the rig does not roll any when you raise it up. John

Yeah, I've almost been killed by a few toyota bottle jacks, be careful. Anymore I REFUSE to lay under a vehicle if it is not sitting on all 4 tires (another good thing about toys) or atleast a jackstand or two.

Bottle jacks are a lot safer than a hi-lift jack any day of the week.

And be careful where on the IFS you use it, for example NOT on the t-bar.

Keep a piece of wood with it, to place under for a larger foot.

I use a piece of plywood about 1foot square, try at least 5/8" or 3/4" thick.

As I recall the jack points are under the axle at the spring plate.
