That Tcase needs one of Georgs' Tcase savers...consultation can be paid for with beer via US mail...;)

but is the rear heater available? Condition if so?

Well, there's 2 heaters. '78 is center-mounted on the floor under the console. '69 is DS mounted under the (soon to be) bench seat. Assume both are 4-bolt. If the '69 doesn't leak, the '78 will be available.
Scrapdaddy; Here's the steering wheel. Good news: looks to be in good shape with good center piece. Bad news: don't feel like separating, comes with shaft and shifter. 30 bucks plus shipping.

I must apologize for violating Rule #4 of the Pig sty: Bring beer in a can. I got you on the next visit...

All is forgiven if you remember next time.
This took me friggin' forever, but you got a tailgate switch (conveniently keyed to your old key. No extra charge) and a handle that works.

he will however charge a small fortune for painting a mural of pighead taking a picture on the handle.

I'll take it! If you don't mind figuring out how to ship it. Hopefully I can remove the center without screwing it up.

Thanks guys and no hurry on my end, just let me when you have time.

Tucker, rightside taillight came out easily (that's the side that had been hit), not sure it's really a rightside taillight lens though...
Leftside had to be drilled out. Neither are perfect, both will do in a pinch though.
20 bucks (plus shipping) for all.

engine compartment cleaned up a bit, now clean tcase got a new seal between it and the transmission and reinstalled. also pulled the drum and everything's dry, so it should be good. got more stripped out of the 69 and the headlights installed to it. had to swap over one bucket because the adjuster was broken.

Just getting home....it was impossible getting anything done today at work because I was constantly checking for updates and emails from Bobm.

It's one thing to be addicted to a build. It's quite another when its YOUR build. And to have it go so quickly and professionally....I can't describe it. This is going to be one badass Pig! Thanks to both Pighead and Ige for their patience in explaining everything to me. They are treating my Pig like its their own. Truly great people!

Elwood will be missed. He was my first Pig and although he was not very pretty, he was completely reliable. I was never left stranded-he took care of me as a daily driver for over a year through snowstorms, fishing excursions, and rush hour traffic. Elwood's body is gone, but his heart will live on in Miss Ellie. Such is the circle of Pig life.

Elwood is dead! Long live Elwood!

more work today. a couple of hours and i got the front axle ends torn apart and soaking in the tank. horrible bad birf soup on one and backwoods goop on the other. bosshog had mentioned one birf had been replaced when he got it, i know why. inside shows the scarring of a broken birf.the left caliper does have a broken anti rattle spring, not a big deal, but does anybody have an extra one laying around? knuckle bearings are wearing too, but new kit is ordered from kurt, will be here later this week.

anyway, nobody loves a thread with no pics, so here they are

last icky knuckle pic, also, the 78 has a good windshield, while the 69s is cracked. the 69 weatherstrip is worn, and the 78 has the chrome strip that's a pain to deal with, but i had ordered two of the aftermarket gaskets from cruiserparts.net since they were cheap, figured i've give them a shot. they came in today and so far, look dang good. in a week or so, we'll know how well since i'm going to use one on bosshogs rig ;)

Wow-I've been riding around on that, wondering what color I should paint her...

I've sent Bobm the $$ (via PayPal) for front & rear floors. I know that's for later, but glad to be getting them in now.

My inbox is cleared some Pighead , so you can send me messages again.

The liquor store next to Mi Pueblo didnt have Fat Tire. Helll, it didnt have Rolling Rock! Hope the MGD will hold you over...

Is rather work for free than have MGD.

I've been in that liquor store twice, walked out empty-handed each time. Very disappointing selection.

Ingrate...when a cold 12-pack suddenly appears in my driveway, I don't throw it back over the fence, I thank the 'Cruiser Goddesses for my good fortune.

Hey-I could've gotten 3.2 beer. Now THAT would be an insult!

finally, an American beer in a can that I like...

got home around 5 to find the box with the axle rebuild kits (yeah, multiple, i got three i have to do :frown:) on the porch. by 7, i'd cleaned up the last of bosshogs parts and gotten the left side done. i cleaned up the ends and i'll make sure the breather is clean, but he's on his own for cleaning the axle housing ;)

That axle looks pretty clean by Pighead standards, you wouldn't want it to get rusty...

All the axle/spring bolts on both Pigs are either loose, or broken off...ready for a bit of the Presto-Change-o tomorrow.
