Body Shop Referral

I'm in the market for a shop to "sand" blast, primer, and undercoat Da'40. So far, referral shops have been:

Greg's Body Shop: They won't touch it.
Quanz: They won't touch it.
Duke City: A few years ago they wouldn't touch it. I'm going to try again.
Bodyworks by R&C: I stopped by today and Rory was too busy to talk to me. I have an appointment for tomorrow after work.

Any other suggestions?

It appears the economy has not hurt body shops. People keep wrecking cars and insurance companies keep fixing them. Oh, insurance on Da'40 will be <$300/yr.

I'd go with Duke City if Steve will do it- they painted my 40's top and it come out gooood.

I might try asking at the paint shop. Automotive Paint Supply IIRC is the place I use. I'm sure I mentioned it in a thread somewhere, or give me a ring.

They seem to know who is doing good work, and if they are busy or not.

Would Kaehr not do the blasting, priming and undercoating?

I'm pretty sure Kaehr would blast and primer it. Problem is, it will need some body filler in a few places and I'm not sure they are set up for that. I'm also afraid of what will be found when the sand hits the metal underneath.

I'll visit with the folks at Automotive Paint Supply and see what they say.

Danlar, perhaps? A friend got a Taco bumper replaced, and I met the owner years ago when I worked at Home Despot...

I had Danlar do some work for me and was not satisfied in the least. It took two tries (matching problem) and a week and a half there to get it done.

I might have this figured out. As expected, it will take more than one shop to complete the work I want. One more stop after work tomorrow to nail this down.

Danlar "can" do good work when they want to. I bought my Carrera (RIP ) from the owner of Danlar (Dan, not Larry). He had the shop do a complete respray along with ding removal, etc. Those of you who had seen the car can verify that it was flawless and gorgeous. Although I'm sure doing a job for the boss would motivate the employees towards a quality job.
