I've been searching the whole site to find pictures of Bobbed / Targa topped Pigs. I am interested in doing a build once my new pig gets delivered. First thing will be fixing the motor since the oil pump is fried, but the bobbed look is something that I like so. Any pictures that you guys can come up with would be great. I'd like to look at my options but I'd like to have the finished product have some of the same aspects of the Chevy Avalanche. I like the use ability of being able to take it out and put it back in. I hope. lol

Thanks
Zach

Click on the War Pig link in my sig for a bobbed topless trail pig.

Some pics of last weekend but not many good side shots.

I had no use for the tail gate so that part doesn't help much. The body lines are not perfectly parallel so a simple sectioning isn't perfect. It's close though. It wouldn't take too much massaging.

Cruiserland, Any chance you have pics of the in progress. I'm planning on cutting behind the back seat and making a short box. Like the looks of it though.

:smokin:  Haven't seen a bobbed version like this yet. I think the seam on the roof would be difficult to mate due to not enough flat area in the middle (?) Maybe a large sunroof could hide the misaligning panels (?) What are the plans for the rear - tray, bed or cage? Where's yer :pig: build thread?

Are the roofs on the pigs fiberglass like on the 40s? Forgive me. I'm still a newbie.

paint shop

I don't have photo shop and if did I wouldn't be able to make it look like anything since I'm not at all good with photo shop so I just used microsoft paint. I borrowed this picture from -fuelnjktr- Hope you don't mind. I wanted to give everyone an idea of what I want. Due to bad cancer on the back area of the roof on my 55. I intend on using this cruiser for a DD so it has to be completely enclosed. I've seen others that are open but I'd rather have it all plumbed up and finished.

Better choppin than I can do ;p I think you'll need some type of rigid support to follow the ext. lines of the roof & area behind the doors. I built a "transom" over a roll cage tied to the frame. Being a DD, I don't think you'd need to go to that extensive of a mod, but maybe some sort of square channel to attach the adjoining panels. Not a thick guage, maybe 1/8" (1" X 1") cuz you'll need to bend it to match the roof curve. It'd be easier to square things up & have something to weld to instead of truing up sheetmetal corners. For your rear window panel maybe a mini truck has a similar width/ height that could fit. Can't wait to see some more ideas & a build thread

That Piglet looks friggen cool. You could weld up the gate, add a pick up box and have an extended cab Pig-up with a power back window.Done right I think that would be a hell of a unique ride.

I'd like to do it similar to the Pig-up in the previous pics but leave the back tub attached just move the tailgate and the last 4 inches of the top section fwd and keep the existing look Get another tailgate or (i like this better) Ambulance doors and cut them down to match. Then I'd have a back window that is electric and I'll have some open bed space. Does that paint a better visual picture?

Clemson 55's selling his slightly chopped rig--photos in the classified section

roof is better than that photo
is tough to lose extra metal
gate is welded shut, window should work
will cut some 1/4 glass
have yet to decide on bed area
mebbe just tube thingy
build page pending....

Anyone recognize these Rigs?

I'd be interested in talking to the owners of these 3 Pigs. Anyone???
