Have you tried parts department at your local Toyota dealer?
So sad, our local Toyota dealer never selling the 70 series. So for our restoration project we buy from worldwide. But the problem is seems this handle 56453-90K00 is discontinued😌. Maybe we try to find the used if cannot get the new.

It's NLA but send Dave an email with what you're looking for. If it's on a shelf somewhere, he'll find it.

I had those knobs on the FJ73 I owned. Seems like a really easy part to duplicate if someone donated an original for specs and measurements. I know a guy locally that could do it easily too that we use for custom tooling at work but I am sure some of our vendors could do it too.

Even though local dealers never sold the 70 series, you’d be surprised to find parts can be ordered through them. I bought a radiator, windshield and a gas cap from them so far. Sounds like that part being NLA it’s not going to be avail but just wanted you to know in case you didn’t. Not everything has to be ordered from part specialists, although it can often help to use them.

The radiator was an example of something I could get through the dealer that wasn’t sold through a parts specialist. At first I thought I was screwed because they said it would take 6 months to get something from Japan. The dealer got it to me in a few days.

Yes, I'm well aware. I may have purchased a few 70 Series parts in my day. 😉

Need a donor to make it happen. Can return it of course. Just need it for my guy to copy specs and measurements.

If I still had the FJ73, I would make it happen. Sorry man..

The knobs le / ri on the dash to hold the foldable windshield, right?
I have those knobs on my BJ73. But I can't shipping them from Germany to the US 😕
But maybe I can take some measurements?
Let me know what you need to know.
Cheers Ralf

If you can do cad then go for it. The knob part will be the hardest part to measure for exact duplication. Also need thread specs.

Perhaps the FJ40 version which is still available will be suitable for everyone? I don't know if it works or not.

I can provide pics, get the thread specs and measure the outer dimensions.
But I can't do CAD. The knobs has rounded surfaces all over. Will be difficult to do an exact duplicate...
Cheers Ralf

Hello,

What about 3D scanning?

The FJ40 knob is available but is way too long for a 70 series.

Just get the correct 70 series iterations. They are still available new from Toyota.
