@FJ73Texas , how much the cost for 1 sets ( 2 pcs ) ? Maybe we want 2 sets of them. Please send the new thread link. Thank you.I was going to let this project die out but it was decided that a small run of these will be made after I talked to the guy for a bit.
They are intended to just be like originals with some variations in materials and functionality. The knob itself will be solid steel, not injection molded plastic like the original. The bolt itself can be removed in the event it needs the threads get stripped, rusted, etc. The original knob from Toyota is not serviceable in this manner. Hex head will be 20 or 21mm like the original.
There will only be five sets available (two knobs per set) and only one run ever. That is all the detail I have right now. I will start a new thread about them either in 70 series section or in classifieds section when progress is made. Just an opportunity to get an obsolete part for your 70 series with a fold down windshield, especially those with soft tops.

I'm interested!
I'd prefer those to the originals to be honest!
Please PM price and when it would be available.
I'm assuming it will be black?
I forgot about this project. I reached out to the guy after seeing this thread get bumped up. He provided a photo of the rough milling process. What you see are shavings, water?, and such. He is pretty slow as he is more focused on high dollar government jobs.
Anyways, the idea is to make them black when finished. I am not sure when the ETA will be and I don't want to say. I will PM you once I know more.

Still patient , really appreciate how hard you try to make the repro @FJ73Texas !I am still waiting to get them in my hands first. All the photos I have shared thus far have been from the guy making them. Sorry it has taken this long but almost there.
