Got the brakes bled and some real measurements:

Front is on 3rd clip:

Measurements Before (no 3rd row, half tank of gas)
DF: 19"
PF: 19 3/4"
DR: 21 1/4"
PR: 21 1/4"
RAKE: 1 3/4"

Measurements After (no 3rd row, half tank of gas)
DF: 22"
PF: 22"
DR: 23 1/8"
PR: 23 1/4"
LIFT FRONT: 2.5"
LIFT REAR: 2"
RAKE: 1 1/4"

Im not concerned about the 2.5" in the front because the stock ones on there were worn and sagging and almost an inch lower thant newer 200s ive measured, guessing its closer to the claimed 1 3/4" lift as advertised, so shouldnt be an issue with stock UCAs. That, and there will be some settling.

Will shoot for alignment tomorrow and report back.

Any rubbing from the tires? I also just finished my install (3rd notch) and I'm shopping for tires at the moment.

Not sure yet, quick test, not much, but will know for sure after alignment, as its going to move, and will report back

Looks great! Love the silver

Looks great and yes, Bilsteins handle so well on road, I'm constantly tempted to replace the King setup with them. If only I could get the 8112 setup
I have seen 8112 on Tundras, i wonder how close a fit that is…

I have seen 8112 on Tundras, i wonder how close a fit that is…

I checked this before ordering 6112

I got my Bilsteins for free from a friend (a Bilstein dealer) in exchange for a Samurai s***box project so could of chose any of them.

The 8112s for the tundra have a longer shaft and compressed and extended length, we checked

MIGHT of fit, might not of, wasn’t worth the risk IMHO.

We determined (but not confirmed) the tundra front shocks sit at different angles than the 200 fronts which is why some of the folks that did the Tundra front swap complain of top hat squeaking

Is this set up still good to go? It’s been pretty quiet.

Hoping some Black Friday deals come up on the 6112/5160 or any other good set up.

Got a few 1000 miles on mine now so feel feedback is now valid.

2010 LC
3rd clip front
Regular Bilstein Springs rear
Basically unloaded

The digressive piston design is definitely noticeable on the less than stellar side streets here in SoCal, and a little jarring, but not horrible

On nicer, smoother streets and mountain roads it’s amazing. Firmer than stock for sure but in a good way, absolutely love it for these conditions. But it’s my daily and often on less than stellar streets. So I’m torn.

I drove the same crappy streets bone stock, with 215k of clapped out bushings, and it rode nicer and softer, but also much looser. Hard to explain

Haven’t done much off road testing yet, but feel for the digressive design will be noticeable at lower speeds.

I got this system new, for free, in a trade for a Suzuki Samurai “project” I was sick of looking at so I’m happy enough.

Eventually, I’ll likely revalve the fronts, or replace them though.

But I’m a picky primadonna bitch about ride quality all around though, so take that for what it’s worth

My .04 (inflation)

Oh man…. I live on a crappy road and wanted something that could eat it up, smoother than stock. I guess this is definitely a no go. Thank you for your assessment.

I’m guessing Kings is the way to go now.

I’d do as much research as you can.

Personally, if I do swap them out, will be ADS all the way. Had them in 3 trucks now and they’re best of the best IMHO.

I have a 16k lb ram camper I four linked on bags and ADS absolutely nailed the custom valving and it rides like a Benz. Had them on my Tundra too with 2 trips to the Arctic driving like an ahole, and zero issues

Kings aren’t what they used to be. Many leak fairly quick and require a lot more maintenance than most. Do research on this. Lots of King fanboys, but the sun isn’t always as bright as it seems.

Aside from getting the Bilstein for free, only reason I didn’t go with ADS from the get go is they are only available 2.5”+ and I wanted to stay with OEM UCAS

i think most digressive shocks are similar. My BP51s certainly are better on the highway or at higher speeds around town than at low speed over potholes and bad roads.

What progressive or linear options are there aside from Kings?

I haven’t kept up with all the new Tech, but can say that I’ve been running ADS for almost 5 years on 2 trucks and they’re amazing.

Now Slee stocks and sells them, so that should account for something…

Kings issues are because of how popular they got, the demand is insane. For that, their QC has gone in the s***ter.

Depending where ya live, if you could get Kings setup locally by a competent suspension nerd, you might be good to go, but off the shelf, it’s a 50/50 shot if they’ll be pissing fluid within a year.

Another WAYYY overhyped problematic shock are the Icons. There ungoldy expensive for what they actually are, and I personally know 3 people that had them pissing oil within 20k.

I had about 45-50k on my ADS on my Tundra that I flogged like I stole it and never lost a drip.

I don’t get a discount, I pay full price, so I’m not selling anything. Just a very happy customer.

Sure, they are a bit more $, but I’m past the stage in my life I sure as hell dont want to be taking my suspension apart to get my shocks rebuilt once a year.

Also, another reason I went with Bilstein to start is they are top notch build quality.

I may try revalving them before a full switch out though, down the road

Did you also increase your tire size / load range. If so, this will also add to your lack of ride quality.

Yes I did, and Yes it will, but my assessment stands

I swapped stock wheels and tires back on for a little testing for that reason, and same thing.

icons are garbage.
As far as kings we are lucky to have places like Accutune or KDM that can custom build them.

I was speaking to Basil of Basil’s Garage and he also recommended ADS for my truck. Really there’s no magic, just find a well built product backed by someone that can work on them. They’re having an open house Saturday (free beer and tacos) so I’m gonna head up to go poke his brain some.

I wasn’t aware Bilstein still did revalves out of Poway.

Bilstein doesn’t revalve in Poway. That’s just a corporate HQ of some sort.

Exactly right about ADS. No magic sauce, just REALLY good build quality.

And yes about Icons. Overhyped nonsense and only successful due to lemming marketing

2021 HE no factory 3rd row. 5th perch up front, stock HE springs in rear with a 5mm coil packer. Tires are 275/70 R18 General Grabber A/TX. Ride is fantastic, I was worried that it would be harsh and take away from the factory plush ride, but it has been great. I wish I would have done it sooner.

Center of hub to bottom of wheel well measurements.

Stock-
FL- 20" FR- 20"
RL- 22.5" RR- 22.75"

After-
FL- 23" FR- 22.5"
RL- 24" RR- 24"
Thank you for the stock measurements on a newer LC. I have a 2008 with 220k miles, 33s, and my rear on the stock suspension was sagging quite a bit lol. I had like a 4in difference from my clapped-out suspension in the rear. The front had a 1in spacer lift before.

I installed front OME shocks with the OME 2701 coil, 220lbs over stock, that I got for free from the previous owner of my LC.
For the rear I am still not sure what OME spring it is except that it's "heavy" the tag said 0021 which ARB was not able to locate the part number off that.
Rear has the Bilstein 5160, I am looking to eventually get 6112s to replace the OME in the front.

This is my new after-measurements.
FL- 22" FR- 22"
RL- 24" RR- 24"

I am not super happy with the stiffness of the rear springs, I have drawers but no extra bumpers or anthing else heavy, so the ride is too stiff for me. Thinking of eventually doing airbags and soft springs, but not sure which springs I should do. Next weekend will be the first test off road on the new suspension.
