HP - DON'T go there.
Run, don't walk away from HP consumer products. When our new HP laptop wouldn't connect to our new HP printer, SUPPORT said it wasn't their issue.

HP Elitebook support is a completely different game. They're used to dealing with clients with multi-million dollar contracts. The laptops I have were $2000 a piece, came with a 3 year warranty, and same day on site repair or replacement warranty. When DND and other corporations buy them all the stops are pulled out.

Yeah, well I returned my new Envy13 and on the day it arrived back, they thought they could just
charge me again. 3 hr 20 minutes. 7 or 9 phone calls later just to get them to admit they’d screwed up
and charged me twice. Now I’ve been told it will be another two weeks for my refund.
Like trying to get a refund from West Jet! Anyhow I expect to be on the phone for a while next week.
At least I’m on the same time zone this time.

The U-Joint looks almost straight. Mine will be a bit different since it’s SUA still.

I’ve got got a similar Pitman arm... I’ll just have to find the right taper to “drill” it out to fit the TRE... once I know what TRE I’m using. I’m thinking Toyota if I can.

I’d forgot how flexible the 40 frame was. Scab plate both sides is a good idea.
probably still install DOM slugs.

DOM pipe yet to come. First of many steps... :D

Making progress on the house front. The window installers are almost done.

I know I should leave well enough alone... but I guess it’s not in the cruiser head nature. Considering updating my bumper from the one I built in ‘92.

It’s been like this for so long... and works other than the outside lower corners needing to be trimmed. At some point I’d like to add tow bar mounts.

This bumper got me thinking...

My hunch is it could be got for much less. The steel would likely cost more than the price. 68” seems wide for a 40... given my current one is 58”.
I’ve seen 40s written off from strong wide bumpers hitting things in collisions and thereby pushing the whole frame-rail back on that side. It’s better to have a bumper bend rather than the frame.

Thoughts... do I tweak/modify my “Vintage bumper”, lowball the FB wider one and modify it, or leave well enjoy alone for now and focus on other things?

I chuckled a bit to see a FORD mobile service van for Tesla vehicles. Maybe it’s just me though.

@stevebradford... it was a multiple choice question... a 👍 doesn’t help me much ;)

Yes.

I say lowball the guy. Spend however much time adjusting to what you want, then mount.

I like a bullbar with some curves to it tho, so your bars with the angles isn't my thing.

Nice curves are hard to do. I only have a pipe kinker, so I'm limited.

kinda why I kept the s***ty old roll cage from my 40. I'd like to ad a bar to the 61, but now that I actually like the truck, I might have to try to go a step up from my usual booty fab methods.

Yep that ^ exactly. Here’s my idea of hands down the best looking bumper ever made for a 40. I say screw that jeeper on the price, cut that thing down. The base would be similar to this awesome one then add some hoops.

:D

it helps that I don’t care if I miss out. It's only worthwhile if I can get it cheap. I’ll wait a week or so and then offer half what he’s dropped the price to. I’ve got some 1.5” tube waiting for the right project.
