Thank you Ross! Yes we have defensible space. Somewhere on the property I have a drag that I can chain up to the 40 and make a Nascar track if needed.
Things have looked better the last 2 days, the wind has died down which has let the slurry bombers
do what I think is an excellent job of knocking things down. Smoke is the issue, especially at night. Woke up this morning and it was like someone
started a campfire in the house (a benefit of a swamp cooler).
I am not concerned anymore at this point, but if things turn, I may reach out.

Are those lines controlled? Or is that just how the fire is burning on the south side?

From what I've been told, since the winds have died down, they are taking advantage and these are backburns.
And some from last night. 51,000+ acres and 16% containment.
Most of Oracle ridge and Rice Peak is being consumed today.

I camped there the weekend the fires started.. you can see the smoke from the first picture.. crazy how far that fire traveled..Most of Oracle ridge and Rice Peak is being consumed today.
I used to live off Snyder in Sabino Canyon and this kills me to see. We were down there the weekend before last and we were hoping they would get it under control soon. The planes are doing great fighting it, they just don't have a lot of water resources close by.
I have been watching this from the flight line of base as well.. all the guys here at work think it looked like a volcano last week. It’s just all smoky now. I can actually sell fire here on base today.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised the past couple of days that the weather app on my phone has had a forecast that just says "Smoke" where it would normally say sunny, cloudy, ect.
One can only hope for a better half of this crazy year....
