Both are rebuildable, you may want to investigate local companies that can do it and cost/service life. I would guess that Fox shocks would have a wider network of dealer/rebuilders.

Do you have them on yours? Can I see your fronts are mounted?

I do have Fox shocks but the truck is with Kelly Saad in AZ. I’ll text him for a pic

remote reservoir's are really only benefitting you if you are doing higher speed stuff with faster shock shaft speeds, they don't hurt but don't feel that you have to have them

If you call a company such as Accutune, Filthy Motorsport or Downsouth Motorsports they will set you up with custom valved shocks with whatever mounting and travel you need and chat with you about your uses and your vehicle to set you up exactly what's best for you. It's more money but it's worth it in my opinion.

Understood. I don't have to have them, but if I'm upgrading anything, I want the best or nothing. Do it once and do it right kind of mentality.

if that's the case, call one of those companies and get shocks set up custom.

I think that may be roughly 6 months down the line if I can't find a set that works for me. Trying to finish up the other car before I focus exclusively on big red again.

So gearing up for a camping trip and doing last-minute checks. Found out the trailer battery isn't charging. Did some digging and it's a good battery that's an AGM. So I'll be swapping that into lil red.

The issue turned out to be a bad tender. So I swapped that and everything works great.

Then I started packing and realized we needed more butane canisters. But apparently, there's been a shortage since around Christmas. So I bought a propane grill with roughly 12 cans.

Went to five different stores that claimed to have them in stock but no luck. I did however find some 5.56 ammo.

I bought the max allowed and might make another trip down there if I have time tomorrow. But for now, we're still packing up.

I thought I had a good system for packing but the Mrs disagreed. She took out pretty much the middle section of and rearranged it all.
The generator is water proofed in the garbage bag.

I'll take a final pic of what was packed before we head out.

Looks like I may have a line on some RockKrawler RRD shocks with reservoirs for $500. Buddy from work bought them and decided to sell his car. Never mounted them and they have just been sitting around in his garage. Said it's for a 5+ inch lifted truck. So if they work on Big Red I might go that route and same some cash for other projects. Anyone had experience with these? I've never heard of them

Worried this might be too long for my front. Waiting on him to send me pics of them fully compressed.

Thinking shock hoops are in the future of this build. Any recommendations?

my favorite shock hoops are the F250 mounts
Dorman 523-054, sold as a pair, grind off your existing mount rivets, weld these on, done in an hour per side. Minor clearancing of the inner wheel well required. Clean and easy.
