The OD is the same gearing I think as the 5 speed. I may be wrong.
I'm pretty light. Nothing on the rack. I think it only kicked out of OD twice to Dallas.
So this is my 1/2 way point for the day. I'm planning on Marathon tonight. May not get quite that far
Instead of " the fast way" I'm leaving the interstate and detouring down 377 through my old home town and Pfizer territory. I'm assuming things will slow a lot.
Great meal. The truck to trips like this is to eat small frequent meals. There is too much great food in Texas to blast by it.

San Angelo for some dinner at a great little Mexican joint I used to frequent when I was in Intel School at Goodfellow AFB in 1995. I can't believe that was 20 years ago...Armeta's Cafe
Today slowed down a lot when I turned off the interstate past Ft Worth. HWY 377 was my work corridor for 2 years. Lots of memories.

I drove through Granbury. One of the prettiest town squares in America.
My old house just north of town on Lake Granbury. Awesome place with 5 acres and trees in an area with few trees
These poor guys were chasing the biggest bull I have ever seen that had gotten free. Look behind the farthest guy. That bull's ass is as tall as him.
I stopped in at the original Hard 8 BBQ to select something off the grill. It was slim pickings at that time of day but the quail Mike selected for me was a perfect snack

17 hours and decided to pile in at Fort Stockton.
The only place to stay in Marathon is the Gage Hotel. Super cool place but $180 a night and I plan on being up at the butt crack of dawn so that's a waste of cash.
I turned to Yelp and this place stood out for $50. Great reviews and they were right. Clean room and I can back up to the door if I was Cameron. Since I'm not I pulled in forward.
Got some Four Roses in the Yeti and 15 in the Glock 22. Bedtime.
