So out River rd the way I came and up to the Basin. I'll be camping here the next 2 nights.

Tomorrow hiking early and west River rd, Black Gap the other way then the rest of Glenn Spring.

Today I did 110 miles of trail. Unreal.

I'm off to camp. I'll check back tomorrow.

What the hell was she doing out in the middle of no where.

The hotel up here stays full because it is 30 degrees cooler here.

Mathew McConnehey was here last week they said.

Great pics Nolen. I remember that concrete laden step on Black Gap. When we were there it was still new. The ranger told us a minivan got stuck trying to go up Black Gap earlier in the season and so they "paved" it. F-ing Idiots!

I just met a Park Ranger that has my same truck and is a IH8MUD guy @Ranger Yeti

So cool.

Just did the Window Trail. 7:15-10:15 5 miles.

Spectacular.

There is a lot of shade on the trail but I forgot my hat and glasses. I almost had to take my underwear off for my head Chevy Chase style but I found a rain cover in my camera harness and put it on my hiking stick.

This was a lifesaver as the trail goes up in the sun the last 1.75 miles

Time to get in the a/c

Might have to add this to my ever growing list of places to visit

Move it to the top. I can't begin to explain what a backcountry trip does to the Big Bend experience

Having serious regrets about not making this one... I think I may sell a kidney so I can get a jump on the v8 swap for the 60.

I've had a lot of time to think about this.

Take it or leave it but if you have wanderlust like I do and adventures like this drive you then the best thing you can do is sell the Pilot put that 10-15k Toward a 100 series.

Is River Rd West open? It was washed out when we were there and they wouldn't let anyone travel it.

The Tinajas I posted earlier are along Ore.

I just got off of it. I can see why it would easily get closed. It's a series of washouts. 100% different than the high speed gravel road that is east River Road.

I'm not how to plan a trip around ensuring West RR is open since a flash flood will change everything

This was the most amazing trail. After doing it I would be crushed if I came back and it was closed. Unreal experience.

Sorry to be that "you missed it" guy but.....

I'm going to dump some pics. I'll do a real write up when I get a keyboard.

2 dudes and family from Austin. They were newbies. Having a ball.

Second and last human I saw. They were also newbs in a sweet JK. They followed me through black gap.

As soon as I broke west on RR I took an unused spur to the river. It was so bad ass. The southern most tip of the spur of Texas. I was nervous. It was 29 miles either direction I chose to walk out and no one knew where I was.

I waded across to Mexico (sorry ranger_yeti) but I just had to. It was deep so I had to leave my camera in the shore. I was so nervous I left my truck running.
