I'm talking to the guy with the pics of the Adventure of all adventures to include donkeys, peyote, broken paddles, sunken canoes and old Mexico!
 
Back in that day when you took the river you could stay in the Mexican town in Boquillias Canyon.

There was a bar with a propane cooler and no other power.

After a day on the water drinking hot Vodca drinks it was the best beer ever.

This occurred just after the movie Young Guns was released so we asked our new friend Juan de Informant (with a huge misshaped arm at the elbow) if he could find us some Peyote.

The rest is sketchy. We still had a couple of days to go on the river before The Rockslide, a class 5 obstacle at the end ......
 
There was a town across from Rio Grande Village that Julie and I paid a guy to row us across in a Jon boat then we rode donkeys to town.

Again. No electricity. Cold beer. We stayed in a house overnight. Was crazy.

This was 2000.....
