Looks great and your steps by step seems easy enought. My concern is the baking of the housing. I don't want to burn it. :p
Have you thought about blacking out reflector? Would probably look great.

I'm doing the same retrofit as you did with the depots. Do you have any links or tips specific to baking the headlights open?

Check out videos on YouTube, I know it sounds kinda freaky at first but it's really no big deal

How did you wire the high beam actuator, without the main power to the low beam not turning off.

I'm assuming the actuator wires pigtailed into the high beam circuit, but wouldn't the low beam/main power to the projectors turn off when you switch? I have the standard 9006 harness from TRS for the kit and Depos.

I'm unfamiliar with the TRS harness as I used Slee's but it should be essentially the same. You jump into the circuit to trigger the curtain in the projector to drop. If you call Matt @ TRS he could certainly explain knowing his harness, he has seemed happy to help anytime I called.

Got it figured out. I didn't realize that the low beams stayed on when the high beams came on.

Any tricks to aiming the depo lights. I finished my retro. It seems like I can only adjust the lights up and down with one of the 2 vertical screws. What do the other adjusters do? I turn them, however don't see any results.

Also I read the thread on hid planet about aiming them vertically. I'm lost with it.

Is there a certain distance from a wall I should be. Where my cutoff should be a certain amount of inches high?

I read the chart where they measure from 25ft away, but I don't see a vertical height called out for the cutoff.

Use caution when turning the adjusters, the other one is inward/outward pitch and you can pop the attachment point out of the socket if you go too far. It won't cause damage but you will have to split the case again to fix it. Measure the height of your projectors on the truck, likely 30-36" in height, @ 25' on a wall make your cutoff 2" below your measurement. Should be legal in pretty much any state and has worked well for me. The pitch adjustment will help you to marry or separate the cutoffs of the individual projectors.

Cool thanks. What does the horizontal screw adjust for ( the one facing the firewall) and the small screw that threads into the small white housing toward the inside of the grill?

Sorry for all the question, just trying to get them adjusted correctly since the pattern really sucks right now. Im hoping once adjusted correctly it will have a better light spread.

I'm not in front of my rig right now but as memory serves, vertical screws are elevation and the others (facing firewall) are pitch, you should have both elevation and pitch for high & low reflector bowls.

Great post on this retrofit. Those guys over at the retrofitsource.com are great. I just keep trying to figure if it is worth sanding the lens on my LX to do this...

I finally got mine done. It only took 2 1/2 years to get around to it. Here's some pics of all 6 lights on and a view of the low beams cut off.

Low - Morimoto D2S, 5000k
High - PIAA Northern Star H1 Extreme White 4400k
Aux - LightForce 240 HID, 5000k

Word of advise. Search HID Planet for "stuck shutter" before closing up your Depos. There is some preventative maintenance with the plunger and armature that should be done before you close them up.

**Edit- if you are using the Slee upgraded light harness, check the high and low beam 12V+. I had to swap my wires in the 9005(high) & 9006 (low) plugs on the Slee harness for them to line up with the Morimoto ballast +/- and the shutter +/-

looks killer man.

I thought I was in the clear picking fx-r's. Its been 2 years since I had the use of the "bi-"xenon function.

Are your shutters stuck too?

It's ashame that I didn't see the thread regarding Morimoto projectors getting stuck on planet HID until after closing them all up. I even tested them before putting the glass on extensively. oh well

Anyone want to buy my Led light bar so I can fund my HID setup lmao

That setup looks awesome..stock lights ain't cutting it anymore.

Yeah, I've even fixed them once before. I finally grew tired of turning my hi-beams off and finding the drivers and or passengers solenoid(s) stuck down, then proceed to get flashed by oncoming motorists.

I can't even tell you how many times I've had to take these headlights apart:crybaby:.

The tabs on the D2S, where the shutter connects needs to be adjusted slightly outward. The spring should also be stretched slightly. Make sure you use liberal graphite lube (WD-40 will burn off after a while and leave a film inside). I am trying to find an alternative spring that is a bit strong and seeing if I can enlarge the hole where the shield mounts.
